Hey guys, just a small update on 2.0.  We are working on the dev server trying to get everything situated with all the changes 2.0 requires.  This is quite a few, as there are many things changing, hopefully we can release some details to you soon.

I've been really sick since last Wednesday so my stuff has been going slow/not at all.  Ucross, however, has picked up some slack and really starting to harness some PHP/mySQL to be able to help out more.

Phil is still really busy for the next two weeks (until his school project is done).  Ucross and I are doing what we can, but we will probably definitely require Phil's assistance to wrap up the rest of the changes.

We also found a new developer who will be working (hopefully with Phil) to start development on a new launcher.  His name is GiffE so if you see him around, be nice.

Other than that little bit of info, nothing more to say...  Sorry it's taking so long, but work is definitely 'moving' now where as before it wasn't very organized - now it's prioritized and tasked.

Oh, one more thing, we will be changing forum software and all the accounts and their posts will go bye-bye.  Which means we are going to lose a lot of information.  I may try to keep these forums up as an archive but not allow new posts.  More on that later...

I'm hoping that 2.0 will be everything we all hoped it would be... and if not, you can only blame us.  But be warned, with the amount of changes taking place, expect bugs, and expect balance issues.  Your patience is greatly appreciated.

If your moving to one that needs a License, is there any real reason for putting the money out for such (IE: something about it you really like and/or can't do with SMF)?

Thanks for the update, fldash!  Smiley

If possible, I would recommend keeping this forum for reference.

I also recommend that people start using the report post function to flag important posts that should be transfered over to the new forums.  I'm mainly thinking things like guides, map discussions, and some balance/dev suggestions.

I can take care of saving copies of the map thread stickies and converting them to the new forum when the times comes.

PS - I hope you get well soon, FL-!

Thanks, I'm still feeling really crappy and it's dragging me down quite a bit.  Was going to make a doctor's appointment today finally, but apparently we're in an epidemic and he can't get me in anytime soon...  So it's either deal with it or a clinic not on my insurance, or the ER.  Undecided

uh, come over to germany and ill make you an appointment on my insurance at any clinic you want here. If it takes longer you get a single room with meals, cake and coffee for free. You only need to talk german with the nurse, no picture on insurence cards here  Wink

(in fact not even a card as i have a private one, but with the one from the government you would only get no cake and wait a bit longer (still cookies once a day though))

mh, slightly off topic here but that stuff with your insurences over there really sucks  Embarrassed

That was a joke/exaggeration (just frustration of not being able to get into the doctor).  I live in Oklahoma.  Wink

Sounds good, I'll start backing up all my important posts so I can re-post them, maybe I can re-release Bastion with a small fix to one of the buildings when this big change goes through.
