I have a far more relaxing time Moderating RN then I do here, some of you guys make reading threads he an unpleasant experience because you assume you can get away with more. I regret every day that I log on and see EiR report emails in my inbox, because I know someone is being a complete ass again.

And there really isn't much I can do, because no one here shows me an ounce of respect, I've been called a Nazi by a Senior Member here, I'm usually insulted via PM on a daily basis and generally, people just don't bother to listen to anything Moderator related.

I'd rather spend my time at a place where I'm respected than a place where I am not, and that saddens me that it's come to this. I used to love doing Moderating here, but now; it's becoming a bane on my internet time because of the community. No matter what I do; No one listens, generally most people just ignore it and continue doing the wrong thing, even when I take action; no one notices: So I can't win.

Theres is a difference between me and another member of this community being harassed. I expect some sort of harassment when I'm a Moderator (it's a given) but I don't allow it to happen to community members, and I have already taken care of members who have done it.

So don't think you'll get away with it.

Sometimes I have to question the motives behind your posting style Andy...

As for moderating I think you, and your fellow moderators at relicnews take the job way to seriously.  This is a game, I would understand if perhaps you were being paid to moderate forums and it was your day job. 

IMO, relax a bit.  Dont take this shit seriously.  You want to help the mod by moderating the forums a bit?  thats cool.  Read the forums, if you see anything way out of line delete it or move it to the appropriate area.  When people call mods Forum Nazi it mostly means they over moderate.  I dont really see it that much here occasionally it happens.  As for the Relic News, i see constant over moderation there.  I really dont like logging on to a forum only to find the entire first page of posts locked by moderators.  Over there you can go around getting posts locked by posting even the slightest off topic remark in the post, its rediculous and im glad we are not ran that way here.

Also people get kinda annoyed when a random person they dont know tries to force them to respect him just because he is a forum moderator on an internet message board.  Respect is earned, and I respect you outside of your role as a forum moderator as a player, I dont like the way you moderate and like I said before I believe you take the job way to seriously.  Outside of your role as a moderator your a cool dude.  Yelling at people in vent and Posting threads with threats in them is no way to earn respect.  If you want respect, just simply do the job you volunteered for here and eventually respect will come without the need to make threads demanding it.

Dont look at this as a rant but just a piece of advise, I dont know if your here to make friends and play a game but if you are do that.  Just play the game.  Moderate as needed.  Ignore the harrasement and dont respond to it.

To be honest, it's rarely the new players posting crap, usually the veteran players post just as much or even more crap.

On a sidenote.
Since this is a public forum, I do think using proper grammar should be a rule, not a guideline. Anyone, regardless of his nationality can start a sentance with a capital letter and end it with a dot. You post on this forum for others to read your posts, not just for your own enjoyment. Why should others have to bother decoding the messages just so they can at least understand what that specific person is trying to say :/.

If you have something to say, regardless of the format you present your thoughts in (book, letter, mail, forum post), you are expected to follow a certain set of basic rules. Do you think they'd even publish a book without basic grammar? Regardless of the interesting content, they won't.

(Obviously the above does not apply to spelling, only grammar)

Obviously you know next to nothing about Relicnews to make this assumption. RN doesn't take Moderating too seriously, we want to make our forums above the standard that the internet seems to imply forums need to be. It's taken 7 years to get RN to a level where you can log on at any time and not be pestered by the regular internet garbage that you find on every other board. It's not a forum for everyone.

I take anything I do seriously; I always give 100% into anything I do, and want to see it how I think it should be. Again,the title Forum Nazi is the most negative thing you can call someone. How can you compare moderating a forum to the people who lead extermination of an entire race? You can't, and I take serious offense to being called a Nazi, anyway would.

If I had my way, we would be run like RN, then we could have a lot more civil threads, none of this off topic bullshit and other things that RelicNews is good for. Again, it's not a forum for everyone and you don't have to post there, nor would you have to post here.

Do you get annoyed when a police officer tells you to do something? He's a random person, but he is also a person of authority, that is what I am on these boards, the authority. You may not like what I do, but you should at least show some respect for what I do, as should you do the same to everyone here. I haven't yelled on vent to anyone, I generally get pissed off on vent when people either a) talk over me b) being a dick head to me or c) showing me disrespect.

Sure respect is earned, but I shouldn't have to let the boards degrade into a cess pool to scrape together that respect. I'd rather be hated be everyone here than let the forums turn into that. You think telling people guidelines is threats, I can't win when it comes to you and that thing because all you do is bitch.

It's people like you that undermine my efforts to keep this board tidy and in order. You went out of your way to discredit me in my moderator threads and as such this is what we have; a forum filled with people ignoring me and I hate it. I have to continuously tell people to post in the right forum, but they don't listen because they're to lazy and just ignore me, and I blame posters like yourself; the old guard so to speak just brush what I have to say as bullshit. Newbies see this and must think "if those guys don't listen to him, why should I" and it happens.

If I could run these boards 100% how I want to, I guarantee it'll be a better place for actual discussion.
