Yep vCoH feels so crappy compared to eir... Also.. this is hard to say...
The balance in EiR might be better than vCoH, as well as the tactical skill needed.

Don't worry, even if EIR dissapears, there should be enough people willing to continue it. That is of course if fl- releases the sourcecode.  Undecided

Fl- code is his baby, he has even encrypted the battle files now, so i think you would really need to prove to him you are worthy to make him give you it.

While it's true it's in the end his intellectual property, blood & sweat... if he doesn't intend on continueing the project anymore, he might aswell make it available rather than having it sit on his laptop for the next 20 years...
Besides, in the end all his ingame coding still belongs to relic, it's only the website backend coding that he can and I believe has "copyrighted".

He never said he was quitting, he said he he had lost the drive to do EIR 24/7, he said he may come back to it when he gets the fire again.

BTW, what is the story behind Buggo being fired?

To the members of the Relic community, we have to tell you that Buggo is currently pursuing other opportunities. This has led to some speculation that Relic will no longer be supporting our loyal fans - nothing could be further from the truth. Soon we will be introducing you to new members of Relic who will carry forth the commitment we have to our fans. We are expanding our community support greatly over the coming months; better support for our modders, frequent updates about what's going on in the studio, expanding our numbers, contests, content, and more.

And for those wondering, we are still hosting our upcoming community open house - you don't want to miss it because you'll be treated to some sneak previews of our work.

Thank you for your continued support!

***** I have an invite to their little shin-dig but will probably not go. Its a 6 hour drive and pretty costly for three hotel nights just to see some sneak peaks. Sad

hmm.. i'm going to be there, I live in the area and have friends who are litterly right around there, so I have a free place to stay anyways.

that said, who here is going to go ?  would love to meet fldash, but with buggo gone, would he go?

I'll see what I can do about potential accomidations... might be able to help people out a bit there, if I get to impose on my friend a bit more Smiley

btw there is a pub crawl afterwards and a sight seeing tour on the day after.  If any of you that I know actually come out, I will also be very happy to play tourguide and take you around the city some in a less formal manner..
