Wait, are you saying they recently made this change...?
I could've sworn there were not going to be any changes made.

Wasn't the timelimit taken out a long time ago?

dont think so, but a time limit would really help making it worth it to defend
like one game i we had loads of tanks and stuff left while the other guys had really nothing and it was 20 + the 60 minutes but thanks to that they easily could win by mcp wich made the game lame

We capped enough sectors to bring the counter down... after that BANG 80 pop and you have to retreat your things before the slpode all over the map.

''succefully'' defended when you got out cap how does that work seems different then what you say...

some times with tanks and units if your defending you have to counter attack at some point...

That's the thing, you didn't defend the territory itself. IF you have of been more aggressive with your tanks you MIGHT have won,

If you hold 51% of the map, you will not have to counterattack - the farther into the game you get the quicker your opponents will lose population, so they won't be able to bring on more shit to attack you since they won't have the pop

and if they wait long enough for their pop to get to 15, then they automatically lose.

The system works well on most maps, some maps it does not work on

As GamerAndy said, as long as you hold at least 51% of the map then you are "Keeping them back". Once the enemies get more then 51% of the map, you must counterattack because you are not "holding them back" as so to speak, since they are able to get more of the map.

timer was a 60 mins....
honestly the on;ly time it worked was if someone kept a jeep on the field and out ran the opposing army... even though they were totally capped out.... and it was the last couple mins...

And if you want games to end liek that.,... go for the timer

I think as long as you hold 10% of the map and you defend for a certain amount of time (the 60 minutes) you should win on defense. Because I imagine it like a real war, where you have like 60 minutes until reinforcements arrive or something. That's just always how I imagined it.

But I don't mind the way it is now, now that I have a clearer understanding of it. I can never tell how aggressive I should be on defense. I don't want to push too much and lose troops too early, but I don't want the attackers to get a strong foothold too soon.

Are you really saying that on a map like Bastion, if the defenders hold their spawn points (slightly more than 10% of the map) they should get a win for waiting it out for 60 minutes?

Yeah, bad idea Riki

Riki, the same could be said about the offense having 90% of the map.

I find defensive games to be easier to win. You go out and cap as far as possible, then you hold your line until the enemy starts getting negetive pop, and then you push foward. I did not like the timer due to the locking down of a map, and thus it may take about 30 mins before a proper push.

Well I wasn't suggesting that, I was just saying that's what made sense to me.

And you're right, I think if you are on offensive, if you capture the whole map it should be autowin. Regardless if there are stragglers on the field.

I don't know, for some maps some things make sense, and for others I think there should be a different approach.
