It's a good thing I brought this to everyone's attention.
And if I am correct,the Americans were the ones who developed the computer, both PCs and Macs so European keyboards are wrong!
I assume that there were keyboards before Macs and PCs otherwise how did anyone input anything into older computers.
Anyway the keyboard originated from typewriters where if you put too many common letters close together they could get jammed, so they had to mix commonly used letters in with rare ones. Computer keyboards where just kept the same, presumably so everyone didn't have to relearn touch typing.
