reward units, hmm, how will that work in EiR i wonder

Hmm, sound something on planet coh.

Since beta patch 2.500 is now released, people are combing over the files to see what exactly is in the game and what it means. Here are a few facts discovered around the community:

- Over at Relic News, Mannerheim discovered a list of rewards. Units listed so far are the Schwimmwagen, T17 Armored Car, Staghound Armoured Car, and the Tiger Tank "205". You can see the list of rewards here, and some of the units in action right here. To unlock these units, you must play through the Tiger Ace campaign.
- It looks like the reward units are just skins, and they replace existing units while retaining their stats. If it is used in this manner, reward units will not unbalance the game for those who haven't unlocked them, they'll simply act as some nice graphical eye candy.
- Sturmhaubitze over at Relic News has used the game file names for the DLC to determine that the Tiger Ace campaign will most likely center around The Battle of Villers-Bocage.

And before anyone asks, no, this DLC will not be free. Not only has THQ identified it as a revenue stream, but the well-informed UberJumper of RelicNews has stated "This will not be free, but it will not be expensive. But it will be awesome."

Thanks deathdude88 for the news tip.

I have mixed feeling about these boosterpacks, especially now that it turns out you'll likely have to pay for them. :/

I'm assuming that the T17 is a Greyhound and the Staghound is either a Puma or PE scout/armored car?

No British or American stuff? Meh, if it does break EiR, will the community just end?

The T17 may also affect the stuart.

i will keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't break EiR, but other then that it seems really cool, I'm hoping that depending on what these new things are exactly makes the cost worthwhile.

if i know ANY booster packs, the new units will be slightly better than the others at first. nothing noticeable really, just a somewhat stronger force. Then over a series of 2 patches, they would either be
A) Ninja-buffed to be exceptionally strong, rewarding the people shelling out money for them and completely unbalancing the game,
B)Be openly nerfed to oblivion because of complaints and be next to useless, therefore screwing over people who already bought them.

Staghound is the replacement for the stuart.
