The other film is got some magic in it i heard. So they are making Heath Ledger change the way he looks, so i think a few other people will play his part, turning the film really into a memorial thing, with these other actors acting like him. Don't think its just Johnny Depp.

Whoever said the Joker dies, I will say that that statement is neither true nor false and I would not believe anyone "spoilers" that they say, and you should go see the movie for yourself. This thread should remain spoiler free for at least a week when I'll pop open a new thread where we actually discuss the film, if anyone is interested.

And I can say, I could trust Johnny Depp doing Heath justice in his acting ability. He's the only actor that wasn't in Dark Knight that I think has the same devotion to his characters that those in the Dark Knight have to theirs. Christian Bale is always close to his characters and does a majority of his own stunts. Heath Ledger living alone in a hotel room for a month developing the Joker. Aaron Eckhart is just an amazing actor, Morgan Freeman well, he's friggen Morgan Freeman! Gary Oldman, gah all of them amazing.

Dark Knight is not out in england yet... oh and i have always found the way some Americans act in cinema funny, on a video showing the "hidden" scene (as in after credits) on Iron man all the people in the cinema started cheering and whooping, that does not happen over here, nor does going to see a film in costume...

LOL at first I thought you were talking about american actors in movies, and I was thinking, jeez 90% of the main cast is english in this movie! But yeah, both times I went to see Dark Knight there was applause or gasps at 2 key points in the movie, then applause at the end. But if you brits need an excuse to clap at the end of a movie, by all means Dark Knight is a good reason!

Uh, it's rather considered a show of respect to clap at the end of a good performance of any type, I have no clue why, but that's just the custom here in the United States - I can't see anything wrong or "retarded" about it.

Yeah I agree. Sure they can't hear you or anything, clapping is just as well as saying to everyone "Wasn't that awesome?"

Anyways they are just jealous they still have like 4 more days til it comes out there.

And BTW Dark Knight beat out every movie in terms of money made in every category. Most money made at a midnight showing, most made on opening day, and most made for the first weekend. Seen it twice and I'm already ready to go see it again!

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Heath Ledger was fucking scary. He better win that Oscar.

Em... did anyone else notice that the movie is horribly misrated? PG-13 my ass.

No blood, no nudity, no sexual content. Just lots and lots of violence... and Two-Face heh. Just imagine how the movie would of been if it DID get an R rating.

Not bad bad at all but cant stand up to the Batman movie from 1989 and Batman Returns (1992 i guess).
They where so much darker and closer to the Comics imo.
(Btw for all Axis fans Batman Returns includes a "Shreck" Shocked)

Umm, have you seen the movie yet?  Its far better than those Batman movies, and much more darker, just in the joker character alone.

Agreed

The earlier batman movies fell somewhere between mediocre and total crap.

Clapping at premiers (with the cast and crew present) i can understand, clapping at the end of a live show too, but no-one ever claps at the end of a normal film over here, that is all i was saying, i guess people are more reserved.

No one whoops or cheers, no one arrives in costume. it just amuses me lightly that some Americans do.

Seriously. The first Batman movies were good, 1989 and Returns, the other 2 (Forever and Batman and Robin) were crap. But the Dark Knight follows the comics much closer imo. many of the scenes are pulled straight from the comics just changed slightly. Also for the most part the Joker has no name and no back story, he's just an insane criminal mastermind that racks up a spontaneous body count. Sure in the Killing Joke you get the story of the Joker being a failed comedian and falling into a vat of chemicals. But other then that in other comics Joker is just there, just like in the movie. Also Nolan took a very realistic approach to the movie and I think it's a million times more dark then the original Batman movie. I'd give examples, but don't want to ruin the movie for anyone. All I can say is the pencil trick.
