Well I see no reason why we can't pick a couple people with mySQL skills plus maybe one lead to have actual access to the database.  Then have a few additional people w/o database access to suggest balance changes.  Balancing and implementing them into the database are two different tasks that can be separated.

I second the vote for Salan.  Having worked with him closely on the TLS project I know he can be impartial.  Beyond that I would say pick a couple folks with SQL skills and then put a few top players from each team on a balance team.  I nominate Pengu and Chaos for balancing because in my experience they have a very strong grasp of the meta game.

First of all, the community here still appreciates the magnificent work you've done with this mod. Second of all, I'm very glad you've decided to start to relinquish some control to the community, we appreciate it, and I can assure you that everyone here promises to do their best to better the mod. This is one of the most positive communities I've seen following a mod - even if EiR were dead, the community would still be alive because of how close we've all grown over the past year (and a half?) or so.

Fldash, take your time on giving out access. We still respect the fact that you own and created this mod, and will wait patiently either for you to update it as you wish, or to give access to a select few to do that work for you.

Salan has my vote - he's a senior member of this community, and has worked very tirelessly to keep it alive and thriving. Plus he is one of the most unbiased people ever to grace the community.
Secondly comes APEX - he's a crazy motherfucker but it's his dedication that I find to be important in this scenario.
Of course, Unkn0wn must be on anyone's list of people to have access - he's been around here forever, and I trust in his sense of optimism and how long he has observed development for the mod as well as his understanding and sympathy for the community.

Yeah, BECAUSE EiR has change SO much in the 6 months since the last patch.

I was kidding to.

I just find it somewhat annoying that fldash is doing this now, when we had heaps more people offering to help him months ago, seems like a cop out to those people in my honest opinion to have people who have just stuck around compared to people who actually did some work for the mod.
