An ATHT can't counter a Stuart.
Or a Greyhound. either their Armor or their speed saves them the day.

Whenever I used to play PE, I used Hetzer's as AT so I don't know how well the AT HT's are....

And nobody here brought up piats, or buttoning units.  Piats are fine, buttoning is fine, but British AT emplacements need a little love in some form.

paits are useless.....

They are worse useless, for some reason people run their tanks away from them preventing your FF from killing it!

The problem with making the treadbreaker cooldown higher is that the AT HT is basically a piece of crap that isn't made to do anything else aside from that.
You only buy it because of treadbreaker in the first place.

This is exactly the problem.  Changing the ATHT from what is in place now takes it from a valuable part of the arsenal to useless...

If used correctly against an enemy without at.
Alternatively take an Infantry HT.

Yes unknown, but infantry killing power isn't something PE needs more of, so those munitions are usually spent on something else where it gives more benefit.

"Its either the way it is now, or its useless" is a pathetic argument.  Surely it could stand to lose some amount of time from its CD, between none and infinity and still be a worthwhile unit.

My own guess is that it could be practically doubled before it was no longer a desireable unit.  It isn't there to combat stuarts, M8s, etc.  Its there to make sure real armor and AT beats other real armor.  At its current CD, it is ready to fire more times than there ARE opposing heavy armor.

What is crap is relic decision to bring british and pe they way they did.
We can argue all day on what would be best for EIRR but i'm afraid it's in vain.
Whether you make emplacement more resilient, or make them pack faster dont take away their core essence, the fact that they are "bunkers".

I'm still in favor of having mobile support weps for the british (mg,mortar), but after watching what button up and 17 pounder can do to a german vehicle i dont think theres really an escape to the matter.
And threadbreaker is one gay ability. Raising the cooldown wont take down one bit of its gayness i'm afraid, not to mention again that the HT will die to anything.
Funny always talking about realism and gameplay. You know for a game that's not supposed to be realistic disabling permanently a vehicle does sure looks very realistic to me.

But doing this only every 5 minutes when the gunner is in the mood for it isn't that realistic either.
I think doubling it's cooldown would be fine for a start.

Yeah ok, im talking about the effect.  Smiley
Time really doesnt negate the fact that your star tank will get wtfpwned on push of a button.
I would prefer better to nerf the effect. Button up too.

Wait, you can get 3 HT half Tracks.  Keep tread breaker as is, and only let 1 HT in a company without using PP.

Why not use the availibility.  With 3 units availibel now is a bit much.

No, thats not balanced at all.
Why limmit a unit that has such a low chance to survive, just because it has the "potential" to score like 2 -3 imobilizations per game.
And remember we're only basing the discussion prior to all the extra unit unlocks and doctrines.
And what about the button up, free ones for all bren tommies and bren carriers ?

because button doesn't permanently immobilise vehicles, perhaps? in fact, the vehicles can still move under button

I don't like limiting the amount available, they are truly fragile, and 3 isn't so many.

Reducing the CD doesn't change just how decisive they can be in a game with so fewer heavy armor compared to VCoH.

If only there was a way to reduce the consistentcy of their effectiveness....
