Another in salan's map pack, I will release a full map pack once I get them all finalized with battle room screen shots and what not.

Linden, 6p rework for EIR.
what has changed:

-removed the water choke point to the south of the main town, as well as to the east of the town.
-made it night time to hide my lack of splatting ability
-added a wall to the south of town where the water bridges had been
-filled in some water on the sw side of town and added two new buildings and a fence line
-moved a farm house with idling car from the  north spawns next to the north village on the west side.
-added a small house with stone fence in the middle of the map where the water had been
-added various cover (heybails) where the water had filled before
-made the water a bit deeper but left a backside road for dangerous flanking moves

GET IT HERE
http://files.filefront.com/6p+Linden+EiRsga/;13335658;/fileinfo.html

screen shots are as follows:

new spawns, sectors, and changes

Lol, I don't think we have to be too concerned about that.  Tongue

Not entirely convinced about this:

1) I don't know what you did with the swap but you practically turned it into a lake, which is worse than before.
The swamp is and was fine, leave it be. Right now it looks completely retarded having hedges in the middle of a lake.

2) The *new* fields really don't blend in with the rest
The stuff you put on (haystacks, roof, very little field splines) also don't really make sense

You just put grass when the entire surrounding area has a completely different tiling to it, etc.

3) The swamp that you dried still has water splashing etc. Looks bad, you need to remove the water source and fix heightmapping.

Overall imo this is a step back from the original, there was nothing wrong with the swamps. Relic maps are high quality enough that I don't think anyone should be going in and making significant changes to the map's layout. No offense but this is certainly not something that should be done by someone with very little mapping experience. You can easily notice the difference in quality and it gives the map a negative feel for me personally.

The added player, preview image, loading screen and the sectors are fine and more than enough to make this map worth an occasional game. Good job on that, I would recommend just sticking to that.

Played on it already. It's good 3v3 map with ubran and open field.

Because I'm a lazy sod :p.
Salan's work was great but I'm of the opinion that there's no need to touch a vCOH map's layout.
Either it works or it doesn't work for EIR, if it doesn't work for EIR and can't be fixed with simple player slot/sector fixes we shouldn't bother.

Yes, Linden looked good because it was a vCOH map, you shouldn't have touched it.
And the swamps were needlessly removed. (The one one the right anyway)

I disagree, and I think this map offers a lot better gameplay then the other, I will fix some of the cosmetics but I'm not changing its layout.  Every review I have had of it is positive and fun.

I fixed all the impass problems, removed the water action markers..

The sectoring and actual game play seems spot on.  works like a charm!
