How to Save & Watch Replays!

How to Save your replay

1. Locate your replay file. It is always in /My Documents/My Games/Company of Heroes/playback/

2. Copy it to somewhere like your desktop, or similar easy to find location

3. Locate your last battle file (always called EuropeInRuinsBattle.sga). It is always in Company of Heroes/EuropeinRuins/Archives/

4. Copy it to somewhere like your desktop, or similar easy to find location

5. Zip/RAR them together.

6. Upload the file to a file hosting site. Filefront is good for this.

There you have it, you've saved your replay and uploaded; now just post a thread to let people know!

How to watch a replay

1. Once you've download the zipped/rar file, unpack it's content to somewhere easy to find. Desktop is good for this.

2. Place the .rec file into /My Documents/My Games/Company of Heroes/playback/

3. Place the EuropeInRuinsBattle.sga file into Company of Heroes/EuropeinRuins/Archives/

4. Now, you need to create a shortcut to be able to launcher EuropeinRuins without the launcher. I suggest sending it the desktop because it's easier.

5. The Right click and go to properties.

6. Now, in the Target line, add -mod europeinruins (used to be -modname, was changed since 2.4) to the end after the quotation marks "" It should look like the picture below.

7. Rename the shortcut to something like EIRRReplays, then launch!

Well done, you are now able to watch the many replays that will pop up!

It is possible to make folder for old replays? I mean after new games it will move old battle file and rename them in that folder? Ofcourse we can do it manually, but we all know how lazy we are.

Please note, that after the latest coh patch your Eirr shortcut should have  -mod europeinruins instead of  -modname europeinruins in its properties, otherwise it wont work and will launch vCoh  instead.

Does anyone else get a sync error at the start of a replay? I've tried watching two of them and it gets a sync error as the game starts and no units ever get called in.

It's entirely probable that im just doing something wrong, though I did just now follow the instructions of this post.

It happens when some one in the reply drops before the end of the game and if the version of EIR:R that the game was played in is not the same as your version of EIR:R. This usually happens with older replays. Hope this helps.

I get Sync error with my own replays. any thoughts?

Edit. Fixed the problem, everytime u save ur reply u must save ur europeinruinsbattle.sga and copy it and put it in a file because next time u launch the game that file changes which results in sync error

Like said in the instruction. The battle file changes with every game you play.

Hey guys.

New guy here, so bear with me.

I followed all the instructions on the "How to Watch Replays" bit of the post.

However, I run into a bit of trouble at step 6:

"6. Now, in the Target line, add -mod europeinruins (used to be -modname, was changed since 2.4) to the end after the quotation marks "" It should look like the picture below. "

I added -mod europeinruins to the Target line in the shortcut, but every time I try to "apply" or ok the shortcut, it tells me this:

"The name "C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\RelicCOH.Exe"-mod' specified in the Target box is not valid. Make sure the path and file name are correct.

 Huh

"C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\RelicCOH.exe" -mod europeinruins

^Thats the whole target line just copy paste

there's a space between the " and the -mod
