This was a rather bloody battle:

Allies:
Smokaz
Unkown
vs
Axis:
Leophone
Sixpack

Highlights:
Axis getting pushed back completly in the beginning of the game and making a deadly comback killing a Vet3 sniper (which ruined more than one game for me). And recapping half of the map from having nothing but finaly succumbing to the allied war machine.
Also the low effectiveness of the Stuh vs. properly microd troops can be seen.

Those rangers are badass, in fact I think they might be slightly overpowered currently. But then again, I think the churchill croc is underpriced as well. When you send in those 6 man squads with 4 thompsons you have a six man squad who doesnt lose any true firepower before you reduce them to less than 4 guys. They can also pick up two shreks and become the true kings of the battlefield. And all their veterancy + fireup is geared towards making them better assault troops.

If you think this game was ranger ownage, try combining rangers + churchill crocodiles with 1 or 2 57mms in the back. Churchills can just waltz straight into shreks and paks without breaking a sweat while rangers on the flanks shred anything to pieces.

So basically this veteranncy awesomeness equation gives us the result of:

Rangers = 3 x Awesome
Knights Cross Holders = Awesome, Meh, Ok
Stormtroopers (0.7) = Meh, 2 x Awesome
Commandos = Meh 2 x Awesome
Assault Grenadiers = 3x Awesome

Does this mean assault grens are equally good as rangers? Hell no. To start with, thompson only rangers do not lose firepower before reduced to 3 men.

Assault grens and KCH both fucking melt to flamers, something rangers either terminate in 0.2 seconds or laughingly ignore. And neither of them have fireup, sprint is laughable in comparison. I think killer was the one who didnt even know that it didnt break supression. It gives them a small speed buff but they still get supressed (albeit with more difficulty). Assault nades is a joke on KCH.

In fact, the strongest axis assault infantry right now (not for cost) is the stormtroopers. As I've posted elsewhere there almost no other players other than Sivlex (afaik) that are running a true blitz company. Their armor type just makes them the best.

Both killer, unknown, myself and I think misten are all running inf companies now. Where are the airborne and the armor players? I dont even bother with rifles atm, because of the PE infantry slaughtering them. I have 11 rangers in my company, half of them with thompsons. Rangers currently make all other assault inf look shitty and weak.

Armour players mainly run calliope companies, i.e. artillery. Infantry company yea main reasons, rangers and howitzers. Airborne without air support and their airborne buffs just melt under the AI power available atm. But yea for amis at least infantry > armour > airborne in popularity. I can't say for Brits, seems to be commandoes / canadian artillery > churchill. Wehr....erm, Terror? :p PE seems to be luftwaffles > scorched / tank busters?

I still find them crap, only have 1 bazooka on 1 ranger for the starting, and just to cover the 57mm, not with any intention to kill anything. But yea, I concede the point, not completely crap.

They have never been "crap", plus button, block or sitcky, they´re kt´s and tiger ace´s worst nightmare.

With button, block or sticky, any form of AT can be a tank's worse nightmare :p  I prefer the 57, since don't have to charge into the fire arcs of any support units behind the tank. But yea bazookas do get that damage modifier against the heavy tanks so they deal more damage if they ever hit. Or penetrate.

nah, those things have such a stupid reload time + shitty accuracy even at close range...and you can´t fire them up :p.
