A bit extra range(Shermans will be able to outrange shrek squads in buildings) and fire rate.

yeah this goes for all vehicles, tanks included. Even say a jeep or m3 or m8. Makes the .50 cal on vehicles suppress a lot faster. Get 2 shermans and a cct and it works like a ..30 cal

I'm going to assume weapons teams and other US infantry get the same bonus from LTs and captains as well? Although my armor company is going to grab the command tank (and some AR sappers)  for reinforcements, it is tempting to make a heavy infantry company and have an LT around.

CCT affects only reloads - not cooldowns on unit abilities. And howitzering/caliopeing is a cooldown.
Works on ATGs, I believe.

The reload bonus does basically nothing for MGs, because they fire many bursts before it has to reload.  MGs generally only reload once every minute or so.
