Author Topic: Churchill Crocodile Flamer does almost no damage to Pak gun crew  (Read 6105 times)

Noticed this a few times. From the front the Churchill croc flamer does almost no damage to the Pak gun crew. Draken hypothesised the flamer prioritises the Pak gun itself over the crew, hence the crew takes no damage.

Haven't seen an 88 get flamed by a churchill croc, so don't know if this applies to it.

For reference, a crocodile sherman can burn the pak crew from the front, as does the flamerthrower on engineers and pios.

Intended? Bug? To be changed? To be left alone?

But I'm pretty sure I flamed the hell out of 3 paks just a few days ago, I think I was playing with Jack, I'll ask him and see if he remembers.

possibly cuz it has a main gun, it will prioritize the gun over the crew.

Flame weapons do AoE damage so targeting priority shouldn't have much of an effect. They are also highly variable in damage. Sometimes they rape everything instantly, sometimes they do almost nothing over a long period of time. Likely you just experienced the second.

Awfully long time then. Churchill croc went from full HP to almost dead whereas the Pak crew's health barely changed. So attack ground with the flamer can bypass this weird issue?

I think I rather like this bug.. if it is one. Churchill is so strong already, charging straight into a pak gun and hoping to flame it should have its drawbacks... this one seems most appropriate.

Try it again more often, I'm not hallucinating. I've seen it happen enough. The front of the pak gun, mind you. The sides and rear the crew dies fast enough.

Maybe the pak somehow shot-blocked the flamethrower? Like how sandbags can stop AoE damage from artillery. It could make sense in that case. Though actually, shooting from the front should kill it faster, since they are in heavy cover from the pak.

Yea cause flames are anti-cover weapons. It's just notable cuz the handheld flamer and crocodile sherman flamer works from the front, just the churchill one doesn't.

 all church croc i ever seen so far in EiRR raped my paks and schreck squads...this thing is really annoying and u should pay 2 or 3 PP for it (dont know it caus i only play commandos)

Actually directional cover doesn't apply to flame damage - if you're "in" green cover at all you get lit up like a christmas tree, or so it would appear.
