How many of you play to simply vet up your stuff and how many of you play to just vet up since there is currently no incentive to win?

I play to win. For me, there's virtually no units worth vetting up. Either the vet bonuses are not worth it, it's too difficult to vet the units up, or the unit will end up dying a game or 2 later.

I play to win, I dont care about vet further than that it helps me win games. I like vet 1 for the sniper and the grens because of the heal but thats more of a comfort issue than actually important.

Except my 554 xp rangers, the brother unit of the vet 3 rangers apollo g43 slowed and killed. Those are special.

All my favorite units (crocs, king tigers etc) are meant to die or limp off the battlefield anyways,

All heavy tanks are either useless piles of sitonthebacklines or button + FF food.
Regular tanks don't even need the button.
Infantry gets gibbed by everything, especially artillery, and tends to dick around for 3-4 seconds before retreating, causing it to die.
Artillery with crews are heavy arty magnets, and self propelled arty is airdrop/suicide susceptible.

Heavy infantry that can take arty shell to the face (AB, KCH, Rangers, maybe commandos haven't tred yet) I can almost make an attachment to, but honestly very little is worth retaining the vet on.

Vet 1 = free, potentially useful upgrade you will get over the course of a single fight
Vet 2 = barely worth the PP in most cases, will be lost next battle
Vet 3 = +1000% manual targeting priority to all applicable weapon types

So yes, I play to win. Half of my army is suicidal, the other is meant to survive only because I need them for the whole fight.

And net PP gain usually (if you use PP-costing units).

To win and fun, but lack of incentives makes this feel like your average skirmish game you host on vcoh.
And i agree with leaf, vet means like nothing right now. I have a couple of vet 1 i think in my werhmact company. Like 2-3. But everything dies, theres no point in caring about vet. Only units that can vet up and survive are rangers with smgs i think.
It is not worth it to spend pps to something that will die in the next game. Why bother ?
And i think once doctrines, and whichever it is to cost pps, get in i think the investment in vet going to be even more rare.
Doctrines and off maps, will raise the bar of lethality for everything even more to actually bother, which i think is good.

I believe vet needs to be like it was free gained with battle, and be changed as to not make units supermen. So i disagree with how youre trying to make it now. "Give us vet that can make up for the investment".
Why should we pay pps for something that will die in the next game anyway?
And the investment in pps makes people cater them and babysit them like some fuckin precious thing, that promotes vetwhoring, and sittingback while teamates will die in the first line.
We'll sure can do well without it.

I play to vet. No point in winning at the moment, but at least if you get vetted units you might have more knowledge as to what kind of balance could be made. Since most of our balance is based on potential devastation and not actual.

Play for fun, then play to win.
Fun uber alles, winning is a nice addition to it.
Vet? I charge every single unit I have until their deaths - even an engine destroyed vet 3 tetrarch will charge the enemy if it can help me finish off their last tank.

I play with the hope of wining, but I really really hate to see my infantry die, so I try to save them usually. But I don have the habit of fight to the last man. My tanks are always on the front-line and never survive.

I play this game like I play retail - I have my men fight towards victory until they can't possibly fight anymore, then I take them off. A single rifleman with no BAR or sticky = no point, after all, may as well save him.

We are serious about enforcing this, and I am sure you all want to be able to have your balance thought considered by the development team with some biased, sensationalist coming into your thread and ruining it.

Not true, I love having 1 man squads around :p They make excellent territory holders and backcappers!

There are exceptions, but generally one man squads are better removed than left on Tongue

One man rifle squads are easier to sexually abuse when they are alone.

Keep them on!
