Question: What type of off-map arty would you prefer? (Think howitzer shot, rocket arty, firestorm)
Old EiR / vCoH style. Click, red-smoke, precision drop.
Make it like on-map arty, with no red smoke, just fires to simulate a support battery without having to call in an arty unit

Old firestorm was almost useless. All it ever did was either kill of an incompetent enemy(or teammate), or deny a little piece of land on the map for a little while. The best delay times IMO are the howitzer offmap's(not instant-arty, T2). Came in in just about the right time with a big boom. Strafing run was good as well - if you didn't blob, it didn't kill, and even if you did blob and expected the strafe, you could just get into light/heavy cover and take few, or even absolutely no casualties. Moving rather than standing clumped up also helped.

Rofl, the old strafe was a IWIN-button only stoppable by map design.. it was broken as fuck

I guess incompetent players are the only ones who get supressed with any units in any given game
