It makes the weapon sounds more dangerous that it actually is lol. The Ostwind sounded like it was absolutely going to murder my infantry.

I loved a lot of the new sounds.
Surprisingly, had been looking forward to hearing how they changed the sherman(as they bragged about it)... And I was way dissapointed - exact same as before!

yea, when the .50 cal first starting shooting I was like 'wtf is that!"
did you guys notice mortars have an "incoming" sound now as well? Its kinda cool. Also I noticed that a unit talks off screen, it sounds like its coming through a radio call now. The osty, yea...first time that thing fired at me i said "omg wtf is that...." scared the crap outta me, until i reazlied it was an ostwind and two shotted it.

The Sherman sound is edited but not awesome, as they kept saying in the patch notes. It almost sounds exactly the same. Fucking goons.

Tym, there was always a radio effect, but it used to be a lot more subtle. It also used to have horrible resonance on certain units and blow your eardrums out. American MG, I'm looking your way.
What I have heard so far sounds good though. Overall an improvement on the sounds, I'd say. They said the tiger engine is quieter or something too, btw, can anyone verify a tangible difference?

The Tiger is quieter and Deeper now. I miss its old high pitched/revving sound a little.
All the tanks are lowed now, even when they idle. You can deffinatly tell if their are tanks on or near your screen in general. At least the german ones.
I'll know more once we have a game of EIR and I go into Sonar mode to listen for stuff in the fog of war but, Generaly all good changes.
