Just curious what tanks people out there use, and why, and what abilities you get first.
Right now it seems like hotchkiss spam + mines is a sure fire win pretty much no matter what, so I'm curious how it can be beat.
It's really sad that they took out rear shots, so you finally get a game mode where you think micro is the most important thing, but micro doesn't count for crap since you don't get any bonuses. well I guess microing behind of stuff while you reload is micro , but it just sucks that circling doesn't grant you any bonuses since turret rotation is so quick.
You also need to know where to put your infantry and what kind to get. Personally I try to spread mine out and put them in choke points, if I'm axis I plop a mine down then put camo infantry near it and AT infantry on the other side, so anything that goes through there gets killed, though it's really annoying that they think it's a good idea to shoot their sniper rifles at tanks -_-

Yea panther is a little crazy with that range , especially on my map

Yeah I was considering using the Panther after watching myself get shot from a crazy as heck distance. they had sight on me because I was capping middle.
The tanks for the most part are balanced I guess, but has anyone used the sherman extensively? I can't use that thing worth a damn, that long shot takes far too long to set up. Seems that I don't see people using the P4 and sherman too much.

Sherman upgun + AP rounds is amazing.
P4 is awesome as well, self repair, triple shot, sideskirts, etc

tripple hotchkiss fast automatic fire upgrade = instantwin.
Then get the cheap-ass stun shot as well(with all 3 kisses), and you can disable a person for 15 seconds till a mortar lands on him, or you call down panzerknackers(or shoot him yourself).
There's no point in even playing allies, or being anything other than hotchkiss - hotchkiss is the fastest(only one to actualy be able to circle-strafe people), fires the fastest, and caps the fastest. It can't be outranged, and it can also barrage people with stukas.

You can do pretty good with the sherman. I always get AP rounds to start, because it lets you beat the Panther in a head to head in the beginning. Later when you get the upgun you can nearly 2 shot the Panther by using the Long Range shell and the AP rounds. And in case you've never noticed, if you catch a H35 putting down its mine DF that shit because those mines give +125 mun.
But on a more serious note Axis tanks have a much easier time killing the infantry on the field. Makes it much more difficult to win as allies when you can't aptly defend your points.

I'm an avid Hellcat driver, and find it very good to use. Early game it can take a reasonable beating and is fast enough for reload micro, and late game it can drop a Panther's health by half in one shell.
Take a victory point, back off a little, go camo, go direct fire, get ready the mark ability, have HVAP.
As soon as the enemy tank drives to take your point... Mark, activate AP rounds, and fire. Boom, instant half health dropped, and since he is capping, you recloak fast... And fire again. Tank goes foom.
Harder to do against those with half a brain, as they will run away after the first shell hits the mark, but flank speed and drop outta camo to chase and you can usually gun em down if they are unsupported.
With support... Just let the Churchill absorb the fire and do some damage while you snipe from behind him under cloak. Same goes for with a Sherman.
If your with a Hellcat, then things get interesting, as you gain the capability to one shot any other tank on the map if you both fire at once. I'm thinking that 2 Hellcats/Sherman or Churchill would be an ideal counter to the Hotch spam as the Sherman can bait the little blighters into a nice little kill zone. My only true gripe with this game mode is that an armroued car with a 37mm gun can supposedly out perform heavy Allied armour. T_T

They need to remove any form of stun. Stun breaks mechaincs and encourages tank stacking to generate a stun lock. Not to mention that if your killing a Hotchkiss it can stun you and run away. or run into the FoW and lay a mine for when you chase. Which will do damage, whereas the M18 mine just slows you. I'm fine with the Panther and P4 the hotchkiss is too freaking powerfull especially with that stupid mortar bunker and it's like 8 second refire

I like the artillery causing the tank to be stunned, but the Hotchkiss stun is just too crazy at times.

If the Mortar in the middle is going to have stun then it doesn't need incredible damage. That and on Arras it seems to stun lock pretty effectively

IMO, worst mode in the whole game right now. I have more fun playing against artyfags on Scheldt
Here's a list:
1. M18 pathing/acceleration/turret speed, ROF.
2. Hotchkiss mine too powerful, lets them kill ANY tank 1v1, allies get nothing like it
3. M18 kill infantry? I think not lol.
4. P4 triple shot doesn't make sense, instapwn button
5. Panther long range shells going through walls
6. Hotchkiss stun shot too useful, allies get nothing like it
7. Sticky damage needs MASSIVE ULTRA NERF
8. Radio tower should be less useless
9. Mortar bunker concept stupid, why does a piddly mortar call in howie? Dmg nerf plz, stun ok
10. Churchill = useless. Heroic charge? wtf? flank speed does jack shit, hull down = fail cause you're still vulnerable to arty/sticky/airstrike/longrange/stuka/stun/shrek.
11. Hotchkiss autogun=instawin, dmg/acc nerf plz
12. Hotchkiss too effective vs infantry
So yeah, don't know why I even try to play a decent game at this point is because everyone else is playing axis for a quick imba stomp, or artyfagging on Scheldt. And regarding that, where the fuck did all the other maps go? Archelous River or whatever is starting to get popular too..... I'm going to go reinstall CoD4 or something -_-

You forgot to mention that Hotchkiss counts for less VP's when it does die and that it captures points quicker.
Also, yes install CoD4 again it's a great game.
