ive came to this idea on this topic: http://forums.europeinruins.com/index.php?topic=9258.0
people are compaining about the ace not being different enough from the blitz tiger.
i personally think giving the ace direct fire is a great idea. it really makes the tank special becouse one person is 100% controlling his single tank. this gives him a huge advantage becouse he can for instance aim for a enemy tank before he moves into the fight (from behind a building for example).
a downside would be that you cant control any of your other units anymore, but every advantage should have a downside, this makes the new ability automatic balanced.

If you can control the aim of an ACE disregarding targeting priorities, then you dont NEED the rest of your army to control!

Bad idea man. Have you even played the Tiger ACE missions? It takes absoutley no effort to control multiple units and use direct fire on one of them at all.

I tore up that last mission, the one where you get the ACE and a vet3 tiger that doesnt get direct fire.

The Ace campaign tiger shouldn't even be an issue relating to EiR. Why are you guys bringing it up? There's nothing in EiR that can kill anything in 2-3 shots, shoots 2-3 times per second, outranges AT guns, and is impervious to damage. The Ace in EiR isn't like that. It's basically a slightly buffed Tiger. Either way, its kinda weird to have a unit with DF in EiR. I don't think it would be a balance issue, I just think its not really in line with the current gameplay, so i said no.

I think he just wants to add the Direct Fire option to the Ace we have right now.

It's basically a slightly buffed Tiger.
It's a 50 percent more HP, more speed and more turret rotation Tiger, you mean.
That's hardly a "slight" buff.

It doesn't have faster turret rotation.

Guys, we'll be adding in Direct Fire to all the units next week.
Seriously.

No.
It would make the Ace insanely over powered.
We're thinking about what to do with the Ace. We'll tell you when it's "done." --sneaky pun

direct fire would be fun in eir, its almost perfect really. Eir is the ultimate micro management mod and direct fire the ultimate micro tool

Direct fire would break EiR into a million little pieces because accuracy would always be 100%.

Interesting idea, but it would be giving tanks 100% accuracy and if it didnt shot where you told it, what would be the point?

Btw leophone how did the Dev reception for m10 mineflails go?

I don't think it's a great idea to do direct fire for what is arguablely the best tank in EiRR.

I don't have TOV but I thought that the "Direct Fire" didn't give 100% accuracy just ability to point the turret in the direction you wanted?

I'm not sure about that but if that is the case would it not be cool to see that on all tanks in the game?

Haha or perhaps something that it is unlocked with vet AND requires munitions to buy? (If it was really powerful?) Hell the Devs could probably tweak it so it only allows the player to choose the turret direction and when to fire, with no other bonuses.

But like I said I don't have TOV so I've never used it.

Direct Fire doesn't just give 100% accuracy. It gives 1000% accuracy. And also sets the more important aspects of Scatter to 0.

Direct Fire should not be on the Ace, nor any other tank.
It would change the flow and feel of the game for all sides, and add/change too many things to be easily balanced.

I never even used in in the Tiger missions and Panzerkrieg; it was always easier to just click the enemy.
