Well we'd put some kind of timer in place so that you can't exploit it. Like in old EiR when self destruct had an activation time of like.. what 25-30 sec?

At the cost of games? Beside put like a 10 sec timer on it before it works. Call it a get out of tank time...

What would be cool (But unnecessary) would be if you had an abandon tank button that spons the tank crew just like support weapons that run off the map. Would be a nice way to save vet.

Interesting concept, perhaps something we should look into.

ya, nice idea, but then the chance to get engine damaged or immobalised higher then normal, otherwise u can save ur vet tank just because there is too much AT but no AI, wich isn't charging a tank normaly.
so u use it only because there is no other chance to get off the field. not to adjust the resistance of your vet to the circumstances.

Ground fire with shrecks or mortar. you can kill your own units.

lol, is that a pun sync?  Roll Eyes

comon sever, this is kinda in bad taste man. I understand that you got pissed, but now you know better than to run a StuH 42 into my spawn now dont you?

I wasnt abusing your skill, i was teaching my partner (new guy who had played like 4 games) that when he immobalizes a tank like that to leave it alone, and it will give you an advantage.

you should've sent those storms that you used to gank my vet 3 howie back to the stuh and tossed a few bundled nades on it. We woudldnt have known

ya i will never send a stuh, or anything else, in any spawn again ^^ there you are right, but i was also a new, ok played 20 games by the time, but i just loose the average skilled things like im new. and we told you that. i would not be angry if u would have let it like that for the rest of the game, because after this we got no chance. and my teammate wasn't the pro like u neither.

sorry for the vet3 howie, ok i just know how it feels if you loose a vet 1, but i was angry :/ and i got no nades on these stormys, and no precision strike... hm ok... a howie vet3 is more than a lost game :-x sorry for that

Me want! Off Vehicle. Crew Abandons the tank and the tank will go KABOOM after a moment. It'd be cool...like in MoW "Oh noez they got mah tiga half destr0yd me press OFF vehicle!" It usually leaves the tank there intact and the crew abandons it...greedy enemy always runs to the tiger to "Capture it" and...well...boom. Enemy team got no points from it

i think, the balanced way would be: if you leave the tank, its like you leave any support weapon - it can be picked up from the enemy. so you will think twice on leaving a tank. ok, your vets are saved, but the enemy may got a advantage for this battle...

If it was implemented it would probably involve long timer as to stop people exploiting it by blowing up the tank before the enemy can get the XP from killing it themselves.

It could spon an unarmed crew that automatically retreat of map with no control from the player.

Also from the moment the player hits the retreat/scuttle button the tank should be completely disabled as in, it should not the able to move or shoot. So no one can go into a delaying/suicide engagement with the hope of acquiring vet.

The time delay can be considered the required time to scuttle the tank. The scuttle tank option should have a (Spot) action in case of accidentally clicking it.

This I imagine would be a relatively fair way of implementing it.

vet is meant to die

vet3 units are powerful and since a tank couldnt be oneshoted or even twoshoted it youldnt be that easy to retreat its xp

Technically the only way of real way of getting rid of high vetted tanks at the moment is either to ambush it or bum rush it with everything you got. I don't think a retreating crew would make much of a difference.. except then.. you could chase it down with pumas and armored cars.

Yay! Go Axis!

Implementing realistic manner of preserving vet causes of realistic implementation of vet in the first place.

No extra magical shot bouncing armour when veteran. No special engine upgrades that increases up your maximum speed, no sudden change in the gun calibre or round type causing mega explosions or increased damage.

Just the good old simple, aim better/shoot better, accelerate faster, reload faster and maybe see a little further.

Actually, veteran german tankers regularly engaged with their vehicles at an angle, since their armor was not sloped until the Panther came out it was the only way to decrease penetration vs the flat facings.

I can find reasons for most of the vet bonuses (damage, penetration, received damage/pen, etc) except of speed (its not like they bored out the engine and added NOx)
