Giving everything the same priority is a terrible idea.

What if you have a single shrek squad?  In the current system the dude with the shrek will fire at tanks while the 3 rifles will fire at infantry.  If everything had the same priority the entire squad must fire at a tank or infantry, which is stupid.

Holy fuck, you can read even less than the other guy. Kudos to you.

Is Akranadas in this thread? Fucker can't stop bragging about his "waifu taldeer" and cosplaying in an eldar farseer costume while shouting "Flithy monkeighs!" interspaced with random eldar gibberish.

I think you really need to learn to read.

You suggest changing the target priority for everything to 60.

Which means a gren squad with a single shrek would be forced to fire on either a tank or an infantry squad, not both, as it can currently do.

Flame less, learn to read more.

FOR TANKS. Which is the part you can't read.

Let me re-quote myself to clear up this flamewar.

My idea is to set the targetting priorities on all tank main weapons(currently, priorities are handled same way accuracy/damage/pen tables vs specific units are - so the tank MGs would still fire at infantry over the given target after a move order) (75 mm's, 88 mm Tiger, 76 mm's, etc.) to 50-60 against each and every target.

This would make sure that the tanks would be a lot less of a bitch to micro. I mean, how many times has your sherman decided that the pak you just gave an order to kill and started moving to avoid it's fire decided that this little HMG crew posesses a stash of panzerfausts and need to be dealt with immediately? Panther deciding that the sherman at 5 health it's fighting is a little bit less important than the full health pershing?

With targetting priorities all set to equal 50-60, the tanks would keep firing at their intended target, and not at whatever they feel like, thusly screwing up tank micro on a lot of cases. Even though I understand your argument of "count to 6 as that's the reload time, then click attack on the target" - it's not really valid. That adds an unfun, clumsy layer of forced micro that is not even efficient - the turret will turn while you're moving and counting to 6(if there's a "better" target), wasting you valuable seconds.

The only bad thing about my idea is, that your tank will die horribly if the enemy sends a bergetiger and right after a shrek squad at your tank, and you manage to not pay attention to your tank as it gets shrecked in the ass. Though, if you manage to not notice your tank getting raped for roughly 50 seconds, you deserve to lose it.

Note again, that the infantry weapon targetting priorities are good, and I do not suggest changing them - just the tank main gun priorities.
