For EiR we only need a minimal HUD. Unfortunately it is hardcoded so it is very hard to make any substantial changes. You should however be able to disable some of the hardpoints (manpower/muni counter and so on) and make parts of the HUD transparent. That way it should be possible to make the HUD look something like this (sorry for my bad drawing skills).

Grey for me. Although a bit more texture would look nice.

No sorry, it's not impossible to do that, I could make parts transparent but it's impossible to make that work from a design standpoint as you would have items floating in mid screen which looks fuggly.

Will they be faction specific or no?

Yes but if you disable those popins it should work (All the hardcoded points must have graphics tied to them. You should be able to remove the graphics tied to the hardpoint)

It'll look like shit, that means I'll have to disable a lot of icons, including unit section ones just so you can have your 'slick' UI.

It's impossible to get to work correctly. Won't waste my time on even trying it

Do we really need a drawing of a Sherman and a note saying its 5,5,5,4 against infantry, light, heavy, house? I’m pretty sure it is possible to do but I also understand if you don’t want to spend the time to do it. No need to be defensive it is only a suggestion. I would do it myself if I could.  Smiley

*Akranadas pounds his face into his keyboard

It's not just that table, its the whole middle section; you know. Where units appear you you select more than one, there about 250+ different art files relating to to those icons, as each one is 4 parts.

I'm be defensive because your not listening to me, your off in your own little world where things like the barriers I'm presented with don't exist.

I never said it was fast or easy to make a noticeable difference. But you can just go paint it red instead if you want to do that.  Wink Tongue

And yes I was joking. If you can show me how to remove the needed files I will do that part.  Smiley

It's not possible.

absurd, beyond, contrary to reason, cureless, futile, hardly possible, hopeless, hundred-to-one, impassable, impervious, impracticable, impractical, inaccessible, inconceivable, inexecutable, infeasible, insurmountable, irrealizable, irreparable, no-go, no-way, no-win, not a prayer, out of the question, preposterous, too much, unachievable, unattainable, uncorrectable, unfeasible, unimaginable, unobtainable, unreasonable, unrecoverable, unthinkable, unworkable, useless, visionary, way out

Your being a complete and utter moron for not comprehending what I am saying. If I could do it, I would but it's not going to happen.

- Every piece of text that appears on the screen, referenced from the UCS file and displayed on the screen via hard coding
- Numbers that represent strength ect, hard coded and will appear regardless.
- Unit Icons, while I could remove them; it will remove them entriely from the game; meaning no squads will have icons ever.
- Upgrade icons are the same
- Veterency icons are the same
- Blue/Red/ect blocks to represent units will be removed everywhere.
- The art itself for the UI is reused throughout the game in a number of places, mainly the tactical map (which wont display the icons above either)

It is not about removing files, as if you remove something; it'll get replaced by the vCoH one. You need to go through the 250+ files, and alpha the entire thing out; and even then it won't work.

Akra, I assume you were referring to the minimal UI pic.  Correct?

Is the UI faction specific colors?

So it's a tie between the Grey and Yellow one; so I combined them in the sense of the word, tweaked around and starting 'prettying' the UI up.

Gents, I present you with the new version of the In Game User Interface.

Still work in progress with some tidying up needing to be done, but overall; I am more happy with this one.
