Serious balancing issue, Axis mortars
«

Iv played 3 games today as brits with the new Updates and iv lost all those games, not only is it because i suck at this game but im not usually the whining sort but i think the main reason behind this is a balancing issue. In all those games today i got pounded by axis mortars in the last game i just played i noticed at the end that the axis had 2 mortar halftracks and 2 mortar teams, it was a 2v2. And iv got to say this needs changing because right now allies have no effective counter. 25pdr emplacement is static and against 4 mortars wouldnt stand a chance. Brits mortar is underpowered and cant be upgrade until your vetted up quite a bit and have played a lot of games. And the priest is only unlockable at tier3 this leaves brits with no effective artillery counter. Back before the reset mortars werent that much of a problem you could counter with your own arty or just drop a tretarch behind enemy lines and take out the MT HT but now tretarchs need unlocking and even when they are unlocked can they take out all 4 mortar teams before being caught i think not. So all iv noticed in the past 3 games is axis sitting with cloaked paks and MGs letting their mortars do all the killing and the only thing i can do is to attack to take out the mortar or yield more and more ground and what happens when i attack paks take out my armour and mgs pin me yielding more kills to the mortars. Its just not fun. Now i dont really play americans but i belive they probably have same trouble as their mortars are also outranged by axis ones i think the calliope is only available until tier 3. Now you might think it doesnt take long to unlock the howitzer or the 25pdr but i say even when those are unlocked how can they deal with 4 mortar teams, plus howitzers have long cooldown time and you can hear them shooting from a miles off giving mortars time enough to relocate. All in all i think we need a solution to this fast ebcause its not fun sitting here getting pounded by mortars. I reckon something should be done to limit axis mortars, maby shorten their range? increase price? make them an unlockable unit or simply give allies an effective counter!!!!!

OH yes and i think theres a bug, my cromwells dont repair even though i had purchased them, i did this twice to double check and am sure repair isnt working for the brits, my staghounds do repair however so its probably just cromwells and i think maby my firefly didnt work neither.

And to be serious:
Put your arty more in the back so it does not get Annihilated.
4 mortars can't be all around the map, especially all of them. (even if the two mortar half track have the speed)
4 mortars cost hell of a lot both pop wise and cost wise.
Avoid the mortars until you can do a good push somewhere.
Don't take this the wrong way but it might be that way that you fail the attacks and therefor get hammered by the mortars.

It's actualy rather ugly, guderian - I rather lolled at the guy's complaint and dumbfounded him on the launcher for it (I am sorry mate), but having played versus it.. it's rather ugly.
It's not so much the mortars themselves, it's the ammount of allpwning blob around them - offmaps would really come in handy at removing that, hehe.
Anyways, only advice I can give you is grab yourself some vanilla units and halftracks, and go back-cap the crap out of the enemy if they do that. Works vs KTs and Tigers too!

"Put your arty more in the back so it does not get Annihilated."
The problem is i don't have any arty XD
"Don't take this the wrong way but it might be that way that you fail the attacks and therefor get hammered by the mortars."
This is very true but i am pretty nooby but what do you do when he has paks and MGs everywhere, my tanks get shot by paks my inf gets pinned by MGs and my arty is non existant.
By the way i do believe i must adjust my complaint.... this game was played on road to carentan and it was so easy for him to sit back and defend while just mortaring the crp out of me. We played a different map tonight and it was an extremely close game on a much bigger map i do believe everyone was on their last call in so on a big map this problem isnt as bad but on small maps such as road to carentan its a big problem.

Try a mortar pit, they're probably the best british counter.

Aloha, everybody on the forums knows you are an Axis Fanboi, so please, just for once, PLEASE SHUT UP FOR EVERYBODIES' SAKE, STOP POSTING STUPID COMMENTS ON POSTS YOU HAVE NOT READ AND COME BACK IN A FEW YEARS AND TRY POSTING AGAIN. Now that, that is out of my system I think simply if axis mortars damage and range was nerfed just slightly it'd be fine

Allies having sheer numbers demon? POP CAP! OH and guess what allied units cost more pop cap because of having bigger squads that die easily..Hmmm what does this even have to do with an axis mortar anyway demon? I clearly stated if axis mortar range and damage were nerfed slightly it'd be fine

allies>>axis now, that was my experience out of my few axis and allies games today.
quite fun to rape with t17s/m8s, rangers/ABs and sniper.
not so fun to get raped by this combo.

Pak, MG and bike > T17, Sniper Rangers/AB l2p
And I play both sides, yes ive been playing allies lately but I also play axis silly
Anyway, stop going off topic, its about AXIS MORTAR, not T17s etc.
and aloha using the same insult on the person who just insulted you fails.
