I wouldn't actually mind the gunner being included in the repairs. No further nerfing of any sort would be included, and I don't exactly see any balance issues arising from it. The only thing I would do is give it an ability to cancel the repairs.

Is Akranadas in this thread? Fucker can't stop bragging about his "waifu taldeer" and cosplaying in an eldar farseer costume while shouting "Flithy monkeighs!" interspaced with random eldar gibberish.

How about reduce repair time by 15/30/45/60 seconds but 25% reload speed while repairing?

That way the abilities like german engineering and OBM actually has an effect.

You can move away while repairing. The removal of firing makes the abilities even better from a balance standpoint - You won't have tanks ramboing into battle with repairs on. And the abilities are still very good, considering they give you several hundred munitions worth of repair kits if you have enough vehicles (iirc).

I think repair kits would be absolutely perfect if you couldn't fire while using them but everything else was maintained. And if you make it so they can fire but repair slower... what about tanks with main gun destroyed?

I like the idea of the tank still using it's main gun whilst repairing... As they said, the gunner aint gonna take a smoke break, they are gonna keep firing.

Or, if the gun is disabled... Wouldnt it be a little better to increase the current repair rate slightly, as ALL the crew are working on getting the sucker running?

Either way, the tank is immobilised and very open to rear attack, which is the penalty of self repair in itself imo. It shouldnt be left completely defenseless.

Again as they said, what about when offmaps are called in?

Stormies sneak in, spot a repairing tank, offmap hits, tank is buggered. Atleast with a functioning turret the vehicle has a last ditch fighting chance if the enemy is determined to put it out of action via conventional means.

Fixing any problem on a tank takes every crew member and usually several people from other tank crews. But seeing as how this is CoH and it is a combat environment i can empathize with being able to fire while repairing. However from a balance and doctrine standpoint. some doctrines have these as abilities for a reason. and driving into you enemy with a turreted tank and popping repairs is pretty gay when everyone can do it.(except PE)

Yeah, but running into combat and popping repairs stops you from moving... Just run your shrecks round the arse and poof, the Sherman/Cromwell goes bye-bye.

Just an example, but apply it to whichever branch of assault vehicle you like, and as long as you back away then flank, that tank is a sitting duck.

I play PE Brn, and I would love it if people did that. Nothing say Marder or Hetzer food like an immobile tank.
