Maybe, while you are at it, fix the exp gain to 0.8 aswell, like all other elite infantry? (Falls too then.)

Airborne spam sucks, but a pair of Airborne RR squads on the field supporting other units on the other hand is great.  They don't do crazy damage like Ranger SMGs or Storm Trooper double shrecks, but they are fairly tough and do good damage consistently over time so they are somewhere inbetween normal infantry and elite infantry.  Taking 6-9 Airborne is no more spam than taking 8 Grenadiers and giving half of them shrecks, they are pretty much meant to be used in significant numbers in an Airborne company.  It's a shame their availability is so low really, because it just means they are all RR squads instead of just some of them.  If their availability was 10-12 you could take your 4-6 RRs and then have enough Airborne left to do the whole paradropping thing along with the T3 that adds airborne rifles.  Currently it plays more like an infantry company with RR's replacing zooks.

Rate at which they gain vet, u noob.

For instance, if a Volksgrenadier is worth 2xp, multiply it by that "crap" number next to the unit to see how much xp the unit gains.

That seems silly, whats wrong with just gaining as you kill Sad

So, assuming that it is 2xp per Volk, if a Ranger (0.8 ) squad wipes out a Volks squad, it is (2xp*5)(0.8 ) = 8xp

Some units have an easier time killing things and some units have different vet bonuses. Those units that become insanely strong with vet will have a lower xp modifier.

No that value just controls the level requirements, meaning airborne have slightly lower vet requirments than the units with 1.0.

Actually Smokaz, the numbers you see as vet levels are really dependent on that multiplier. =)

Does falls and AB damaged recieved have anything to do with they are both paratrooper units making them require more durability to be of any effect?

Airborne has a special armor type that makes them dodge while moving.

Falls have the same armor as PGs.

No, just the opposite, AB is the toughest infantry in the game against all weapons, including flamers.

AB is just as susceptible for flames as all infantry.

The regular vet level is 10/40/80, you take whatever the vet level is for that unit, say if it's 0.8 and you multiply it against 10/40/80 and you get the vet requirement for that unit.

So, if it's 1.6 you go

1.6 x 10-10 and you get 6xp for vet 1
for vet 2 1.6 x 40 - 40 and you get 24
for vet 3 1.6 x 80 - 80 and you get 48

at least i think...cuz it's really 6 25 50. I think they just rounded it out.

Note that the Flamethrower does 20-25% more damage to most infantry (but not AB), and in addition, AB's doc unlock, Hard n Fast, reduces the accuracy of all weapons (including Flamers, I'd assume) by 15%.
So I'd have to agree that AB are the most resilient inf vs Flamers.

flamers actually do most of their damage by cover, green cover or garrison cover give like 1.5x bonuses to damage and accuracy, so its pretty crazy.

Airborne are tough infantry that can penetrate pretty well and also do quite a bit of damage even without RRs.
