when your unit reaches vet 2 or vet 3 XP requirements, the XP gain stops.
for instance: your tommy squad has 36 XP. 40 XP is needed to reach vet 2. if your tommy gains 20 XP in the following game, only 4 will count.

thats quite lame, and i suggest to change it:
the tommy squad will have 36 + 20 = 56 XP when you check your battalion screen after the game, you see your tommy squad with 56 XP. now you can make him vet 2 by paying the SPs and finalize.
however, when you choose not to vet him up, and you press finalize, the XP will go back to 39 untill you can pay your SPs, and make him go vet 2 with 40 XP.

Probably hard to make, but i agree, that sucks a bit.

My epic commando sniper with 99 kills would have had far more than 80 exp by now Sad

This is an intended feature.

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

^ yea pretty much, this was talked about when eir first came out, it sux but it's something you live with. I had a vet 2 callie with 198 xp andin the next game i got 22 in kills which has to be about 40-60 more depending on what igot but all I did was go up to 199 in the launcher. Just gotta live with it.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

This is an intended feature.

What's the rationale behind it? Why not just let us buy the potential vet before games, it increases the risk for only a potential reward.

Or just completely revert vet to old bonuses and make it free with old xp requirements. Tongue

Personally I would prefer that, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Because it slows overall vet gain down.  Too much vet is a problem we are already seeing.  By problem, I mean it translates into  creating a larger gap between stronger and weaker players.

Now if anyone disagrees that a big margin between the strong and weak players is a problem... then why is game dodging, smurfing and stacking such an issue in itself?

It is also more accurate. A unit would have to be in quite a few battles to become crack. You dont make the olympics by having one good day.

Thats the idea behind it.

Its to simulate 'Elite' training or some such using your Prestige points (Through SP).

I support the feature, things would be sort of bizarre without it in my opinion, but I can see where you might get frustrated.  Once I had a luftwaffe infantry guy take out a bangbus with a panzershrek and get 13 kills, but he only get 3 or 4 exp out of it cause I had to vet him up. xD

i support the way vet works currently, i like the idea that you have to play at least 3 games to get your unit to vet 3.

I still like the fact that you need to juggle your SP between vet and offmaps.

some of these offmaps are EXPENSIVE!
