A long time ago I saw a sweet 3D model of Konigstiger with Henschel turret on the Relicnews forum, and I wondered if it would be possible to include one in EIRMod. Are 3d models used in the mod yet or would that be too big of an investment?

Ive heard that its very tricky to add the models AND animations.

Piecing together old model bits was a workaround Ive seen, but other than that I dont know much.

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

More and more of the OE is being understood constantly, of course we would need someone with that knowledge.

I have heard that there are mods making actual new soldiers with it now, which is extremely new.

new tanks like the sturmtiger in BOTB or the elephant in blitzkrieg have mostly been done with model mixing.  But even that is a thing of the past to a degree, people are actually making them work from scratch I believe now, t34 in eastern front i believe.

It's entirely possible to get new tanks and vehicles into any modification for Company of heroes; the main problem however is the difficulty of doing so. Only 2 modifications have created truly new units with animations those being Joint Operations and Eastern Front. Others have model mixed units together to create the illusion of a new unit like Battle of the Bludge does.

Overall, the sheer time and difficulty means that to attempt to do so would remove development away from more important things such as Warmap and balance.

Akr is indeed correct. However it time for a shameless plug  Grin

We are planning on implementing some new allied units over at Fortress Europe if we can get them to work. Here is the first model that is being worked on by 130th Panzer the Daimler Scout Car:

That helicopter was a real German vehicle....shows how much you know your history.

From what I've heard the models aren't the problem, but the animation is. So you basically have to apply animations from other units to new models, which very often results in, you guessed it, epic fail.

We are serious about enforcing this, and I am sure you all want to be able to have your balance thought considered by the development team with some biased, sensationalist coming into your thread and ruining it.

Then if I have a similar model it's easy?

If I use the same animation I mean.
