have 2 questions..

1.  The inital first strike bonus, what exactly does that produce in say penetration and damage?

2.  Vet 2, penetration of 25 percent....  now is that accross the entire board? i.e. range? and modifiers against certian targets? will they all be 25 per better?

Duno about 1 but its a big damage modifier, and 2 id say so can take on panthers frontal easily from all ranges.

Firstly, im not an expert but to the best of my knowledge it is this:

1.  First Strike bonus is probably at least 200% penetration.  It will always penetrate on first strike.

2.  Penetration +25% is across the whole board.  Eg. if you previously had a 60% chance to penetrate a Stug (which is the case), you now have a 75% chance (+25% of 60 = 15).  However, remember that Range factors diminish Penetration, since the hellcat for some very odd reason has this in CoH stats:

Penetration:

Long 0.4
Medium 0.55
Short 0.65

Compare that to pretty much every other tank's range penetration modifier which goes like .8 .92 1 and its quite odd, maybe an error.

200% penetration and 150% damage (168.75 damage shermans or P4 have 87.5)

If you already have looked at pretty much every single veterancy of every unit in the game you would assume its penetration 1.25 anyway. 

The hellcats ambush bonus is best for penetration, it will take out major health of pretty much anything but a jagd.

devs should really think about replacing m10s with hellcats in armor doctrine..its much better than the m10 imo

Some company builds rather a more mobile offensive M10 rather than a defensive M18.

good your not an expert because even with 200% it still bounces off of panthers.

its a tank destroyer that cant destroy tanks. deal with it.

With the ambush bonus I dont believe it bounces off panthers, it also does a hell of a lot of damage. It destroys tanks very well.

it does ok if you shoot and move, last night i got 2 hetzers and a panther with mine, but, that wasnt just the m18, t17 with stun, 57mm helping..  if it was fast like the real m18 it would be pretty fun.

he is proposing to lower the crazy amount of armor that can fielded as armor doc

i run a 16 vehicle >jeep company by myself...with 3x fuel advantage there should be one or 2 vehicle more possible

nowhere did he say to lower the amount the availability. he wants the m10 completely gone from the ARMOR doctrine even though the m10 is a tank DESTROYER.

Hellcat is not better then the M-10, they both server different purposes. I run both in my armor company. M-10 is used for flanking/finishing off vehicles, M-18 is used for defense/prevent flanking. M-18 has such crap health you usually want to pull it back as soon as it's fired it's ambush round.That's what I find so funny about the hawkins mine, it slows down the enemy tank, which sometimes you don't tank because it gets an extra shot off or two on your M-18 =P


Also the hellcat does bounce shots coming out of ambush, I've seen it happen many a time.
