When did I say its UP? Its fine as is in all regards right now, the MG is kinda crap for its cost, but thats a non issue really.

Its range is like an Improved Barrel Panther once it gets vet 2.

In my last game I killed a Panther with a single M10 through superior micro and a little luck, does that make the M10 OP too?

Here are the stats.

Base Penetration vs Panther = .4
Range modifiers for Pen = L .4, M .55, S .65

So at best, without ambush, we are looking at a 26% chance to penetrate a Panther from the front. That's at short range. 16% at long range. Multiply by 2 for the rate of penetration for Ambush.

That is simply not true. I've seen M18s not penetrating Panthers so so many times...

I don't have AP rounds, I just know how to use my tanks. Once I get AP rounds things will get really fun. Its like the allied version of Tank Hunters.

i saw your 2 hellcats (probably with ap rounds when doctrines were unlocked) almost killed a full health tiger from ambush...it barely survived by backing up...

thats kind of scary for these 150fuel tanks

i know that you oversupplied them and i think AP rounds shouldnt be able to use when they are ambushing and should need at least 5 seconds to work after uncloaking

They never almost killed a full health tiger, but they will drop it to 50% health. Sort of similar to PAK ambushing isn't it? Or Schrek Stormies...

My suggestion though, is like 57mm with AP rounds, or 17pdr with HVAP, that you are better off not trying to counter them with a tank! I know it sounds crazy, but its true.

the tiger didnt tried to counter your hellcats (they where ambushing) and the infantry running with the tiger wasnt able to detect them quick enough
they took their damage stacked AP round ambush salve and then one ap rounds shot while tiger was moving backwards

ok, the 2 hellcats were cloaking already before p4 arrived, but its penetration vs panthers and p4s is still 100%, and its range is insane!

I'm pretty sure Leo was right, I only count one Hellcat, and it does about 25% damage to the panther even on the second, uncloaked, shot. The mine was just extremely lucky, but he's right about the hellcat out ranging and out damaging the Panther. And yeah, as far as fuel is concerned (which is the important part) If you can field three Hellcats for less than one panther...

Go read the stats on its gun, it gets bonuses vs the Panther for damage, but has low penetration rates. Luck factors in a lot. The key is at vet 2 it gets the range bonus and a slight Pen increase (since its change to penetrate is already low).

A Panther with Improved Barrels still outranges it, outdamages it, and out penetrates it. Not to mention has skirts and more health. If you want to see the fun part of that game, see where the M10 kicks the crap out of a full health Panther.

Hellcat from my uses so far cant cloak while moving, and cant cloak when an enemy can see it.. at least mine cant... plus it gets 1 cloaked shot, decloaks and then is dead duck, you have to remember to press that cloak button to make it move lol.

ya, its cool, just wish it was faster.. moves like a tard. and wish the gun penerated like m10s... i would glady give up the cloak if it was fast and better penetrating gun

i choose it over m10s because of the nice veterany buffs it gets..

oh thanks for reminding me

i have to correct myself i forgot about the 125% damage modifier vs basically all tanks

200% penetration and 150% damage (168.75 211 damage shermans or P4 have 87.5)

with ap rounds it stacks to the insane amount of 264damage

that explained the earlier mentioned situation were a full health tiger almost died to an double hellcat ambush with aditional 1 shot each while reversing

That would be like Tank Reapers making ATGs better at killing tanks! I mean who woulda thunk it.

Remind me again how much faster equal pop of PAKs or 57s goes through a tank.

as mentioned earlier ap rounds shouldnt stack with ambush hellcats

an ambush hellcat is deadly enough for itsself (for a invisible 270mp 150fuel cheap tankdestroyer)

what would you say when two ambush pak38 oneshot pershings?

edith says: paks/at guns are not mobile and can be flanked easily (not like the fast turret m18)

if you got shot the pak is revealed and you just rush behind and pak needs to turn all the time....when you try to rush just beside an M18 after you got ambushed

you just make the problem bigger because

1. you get into close range (hellcat benefits in case of penetration massively from short range)
2. if you passed it you just get shot into the ass...

and MOST of the time paks get the first shot off they get a 2nd as well before it gets flanked.. and unless you are a terrible player you'll probably have another piece of AT on the field supporting that pak. or if you have any scouting units you'll see the tank coming and can considerably damage the tank before it flanks your pak.

o no, so now the axis have to scout for ambushing at units, thats so terrible! Now you know how we've felt for so damn long about paks.

At least your paks can cloak while in combat, hellcats can't.

I am so in love with axis players complaining about US ONE unit that doesn't cloak (well other then sniper, but both sides have that) while we have to deal with all these falls variations with ambush, paks, storms, kettens. Just imagine if we could inch our hellcat along slowly while having it cloaked!
