Why in the world would you watch a cam? Quality sucks, and it ruins the story.

If you don't want to pay for it, pirate the DVD when it comes out, don't bother with this cam stuff. Sure it takes longer, but it's worthwhile in my opinion.

This movie was ok, 6/10.

unfortunately the most interesting part of the movie was the bit they either didn't show or glossed over really quickly. How did they react when the aliens first arrived? How did they integrate them in to society? How did the Aliens behave, what were the motivations and society like?

Also, the whole Apartheid thing was way over done. We get it, Racism is bad.

The most interesting parts were the damn action scenes.  They left a lot out on purpose, same reason cloverfield didn't explain the monster.  Any time you give answers, people bitch.  The best films leave a lot of questions.  If you explain everything, then people just pick apart your explaination, and whine about how this isn't realistic or that never woulda happened...
All I saw was mech warriors and lightning bolts that made ppl explode....
and a gun that shoots pigs, can you get more win?

its like titanic, the ship sinks!

Salan there is absolutely no indication that what you just said would even possibly occur for the entire first HOUR of the movie...

It's like telling somebody to watch new Star Trek and then saying "I hope we get to see future military vessels, unlike that puny Romulan mining ship from the future with black hole technobabble device."

.......

This Movie is probably the best SciFi movie I've seen this century.
You could just say 'this decade.' Tongue

But I don't know if they'd make a sequel. I felt like the movie was filling, and answered plenty of questions by the end (though I'm not one to bitch about not getting a perfect answer to every little detail). In fact, I'd be more than happy to fill in the blanks on my own.
Though a sequel (aka another chance to see shit go boom) would be great, I think I'd rather see him cover another story/genre, rather than this one again.

***SPOILER ALERT***

I found 2 glaring problems with it
1. at the end he is in district 9 but everyone was relocated to 10
2. how did al the aliens get down and not up?

My favorite logic derived conclusion is that being the dumbass bugs they are they built the battery into the bottom floor so it would be the first thing to fall out. that or the fluid is some royal jelly shit because that would explain its mutative properties and ultimate control.

1. 10 probably just turned into the same slum 9 was.
2. Helicopter.

The reason the "command module" fell out of the ship is unclear to me, probably it strayed too close to a black hole or something and got royally fucked up and had to stop on Earth with no other choice.

Chances for a sequal are hard to determine.  A sequel would have to answer more shite, giving more ppl reasons to bitch.  as in, aliens come back happy, ppl will be pissed, they come back to wage war, ppl will be pissed, (and we'll lose).
But, the ratings and chance to make a ton of money are pretty high.  I just want another for the cgi.... the view inside that mech warrior was cool, and the fight scenes were done extremely well.

It was an alright movie I thought it was kind of a comedy at first untill all the action happened. Personally I like The Informers better because you get to look at Amber Heards no no parts for half the movie and she is sexy as hell. Plus it was a good story..................

I didn't think about these, but the one thing that my friends and I discussed was this:

MNU had (obviously) operational missile turrets ready to fire, but didn't use them when the command module was being beamed up?  Way to drop the ball there guys.

You guys need to pay attention to the movie..
First off the guy who order the rockets to be fired was dead...
Also they used helicopters and what not to get them down.

And yeah district 10 was not any better than district 9 if you recall hearing that in the movie too so i'm sure it wouldn't of looked any better either

Plus the command module being beamed up wasn't the mission critical component, it was grabbing the guy in the fuckoff power armor. Mercenaries DO have to PAY for the ordnance they expend you know.

The guy who fired the rockets was the last MNU guy alive, but instead of getting the automated missile turrets to fire on the ship, he decided to use an RPG.  I'm not sure what you mean by 'they used helicopters and what not to get them down.'

Quite literally, they used helicopter to remove the aliens from the ship, and relocate them to District 9.

I don't know if I liked it or not. Their was just so many holes within the story that I left the theatre unfulfilled and still asking questions that I will never find answers to.

Holes? I agree with the questions part [sort of like real life events, which I think this movie was trying to emulate] but I noticed very few oversights within the story itself.

I really liked the aliens because they were so inhuman, unknowable. Kinda like a real alien.

Like, why didn't they strap wikius down before attempting to cut him open, or even sedate him?
Why didn't they just use the RPGs on the walker to begin with?
