It's not like you need highest score to be best player, let's say you are doubled but you are holding your enemy off while your teamamtes are owing one guy in 2v1 on their side, or let's say you have bad luck and all arty lands on you.

Well you also need fresh mind don't repeat old tactics again when you see that they don't work etc.

post some replays, some where you think you did good, some where you think you did bad, then hope someone watches them and lets you know what you're doing right/wrong.

this is very true.

Sometimes the guy that scores the least is a vital part of the team because he's the guy that weedles into the line to clear out paks and AT before the armor rush, or there are other times where your the one doing the damage, and a teammate comes in and mops up after you get destroyed. Yeah, you dont get the points, but you know you did your part to make things gel together.

On top of all of this, you play as U.S., right? Its by game design that U.S. armies lose more than they kill.

If you have a positive k/d ratio as U.S, then your either fucking amazing, or playing someone thats far below your skill level.

Ok, to put it more simple.

You can get positive K:D ratios if you are US armor.

You generally get higher K:D ratios if you have a vehicle based army since you have less infantry dieing.

yep, compare an infantry battalion to an armor battalion. armor battalion is at most going to have 4-6 rifle squads. While an infantry battalion will probably have at least 8 rifle/ranger squads. and well for ever 4-6 infantrymen killed compared to 1 T17 adds up pretty quick in the K:D ratio.

Awww Mgallum, don't feel bad, that was a good game we had there.

I usually don't do so well on the K/D ratio, I just got lucky that one of their guys kept throwing volks in the open against SMG rangers, as I usually go even or have more deaths than kills (being that German squads are fewer in men... 3 KCH is still 3 kills while 5 volks is 5 kills, so it doesn't show relative strength of the 'few' that were killed).

And I disagree with you Groundfire as it is by vCOH design that allies lose a lot more men for their kills.  I frequently took casualties of 100+ in vCOH and while I didn't have 100+ kills, our team would win the game as the American playstyle is to keep being aggressive and tying up the enemy while the lower men armies (like Armor Company and British doctrine armies) are the 'firepower' so to say.

Anyway, that's with a US infantry company, Airborne is a little different if they field more airborne than actual riflemen, but yeah riflemen tend to die in droves!  Grin

maybe traditional assault style isn't for u. on my old account I used to specialize in support (MrBilly506). i was only good in 3v3 (cuz i was only support), but I was fairly successful. I lose lots of games now but i'm learning and slowly getting better. Kills don't always mean anything either cuz some players retreat their units before they get killed. So you may be doing more damage by just pinning down troops than you would by killin a bunch.

You need to pick a good player, watch a bunch of their replays and copy everything they do. Then when you have mastered it as best you can start adding your own tweaks. Thats how I got fairly good at vCOH, can;t say about EIR since I was born awesome at it.

Also last game I played as axis, I didn't have that many kills, but do you know how many kills my team mates got after I nebeled/stukad an area? weakened units + suppressed units, their grens went in and mopped up. I would only get lets say 3 kills, but I would assist in at least 10 kills.

You can get lower score than others and still have played best on your team, its when you are the guy with 2000 score and the others are around 15000~ suspicion occurs.

Nice to know Smiley

And mgullan your not that bad, you hold your side and support when needed, which is more then some people do, would much rather have you as a teammate then people who just go rambo while you have no units or while your ramboing and need support

Lol... armor companies are going to have far more rifles then other companies, who rely more on elite inf. My old eir 7 sherman OBM company had something like 20 rifles.

One thing to note - a heavy armor company or medium armor spam company will have more rifles than a light armor company.

well yeah it will

but most people are running t3 fuel for armor company and using at least 1 pershing + a combo of t17's/m8's/quads/m18's/m10's

you really don't need more then 5-6 rifles lol
