Recon tommies are relatively easy to vet. Against Axis, if you snipe a man (eg volks), they're one man short vs a tommie unit. 4 man Volks vs 5 man Recon Squad is pretty one sideds. Often as part of an assault my tommie squads will rack up 3-5 kills a game (higiest being like 9-10?), so 2 or 3 decent games with them you're looking at vet 2.

well, the reason recons are so easy to vet is their vet is pretty low but i found it easier to vet my tommies tehan the recons

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

I'd say improved rifling and better sighting recon tommies are far more dangerous than zeal recon tommies(if spammed).

With IR, they fire as if they were at short range while the enemy units think they're STILL AT LONG RANGE, and it affects every picked up weapon as well. Meaning - get an LMG, and rape anything at half the enemie's sight range away.

3-5 kills for a recon tommy in my company is considered a failure, and I generally get 7-12 kills on each squad. Fairly easy to accomplish with a CCS.

That's a luckily something normal tommies are capable of too with improved rifling, thus it should reflect on that stupid ability.

You also don't need to spam the recons with the commando build, you just keep one on the field at all times.

so is this problem really with RT or is it with these buffs stacking with them? i just feel like my bren tommys do sooooo much better with improved rifling than my recon tommies even with their extended sight. especially since a normal tommy gets regen with vet.

i think the problem is simply the fact that RT are the only counter to a sniper. and that counter if you have your marksman shot ready, is the easiest way to kill a sniper. but if you don't you have a unit that isn't as fast as a scouting vehicle, and can get suppressed. so it's hard to balance in that way.

Improved rifling improves the effective short-medium-long range for picked up weapons or upgrades as well? Thats amazing.

Its easy to balance the recons utility abilities against its specific function to counter a single unit, the wehrmacht sniper. Make range longer, but make the cooldown longer as well. Ability to deal with the problematic unit is increased, overall performance against regular infantry decreased.

The utility abilities for recons like mark target are insane, the duration of mark target is shorter than the recharge making one recon squad able to have mark target running for a decent amount of time on more than one squad at the time, and the detection range increases with vet as well.

And even worse, mark target is completely unaffected by the number of members in the squad.. in the same british doctrine that gets zeal. Good idea? Nope. 3-4 recon two-three man recon squads possibly negating cover/increasing accuracy of twice their amount of units just becomes ridicolous. The ability to negate the cover mechanic completely is pretty powerful to begin with.

Luckily the new commando doctrine didnt have mark target, so unless its planned on being added back in in the new commando that particular recon problem is being solved.

Actually, all 5 men shoot in the squad, tymathee..
It's just their cooldown, reload and accuracy is modified.

1.25 reload.
1.15 cooldown.
0.85 accuracy.
