Poor map choices...
«

Is there a reason 2 of the more horrid maps in EIR:R are currently war maps?
Vengeance would be a solid map without the water/bridge...but with it, all you have to do is bring a demo charge or goliath and blow the bridge, then just laugh as you slaughter any units that try to crawl through the water.
As for Bocage...like Myst said in another thread, its basically, hey, I'm having a really shitty time playing on this clusterfuck of a map with random tank traps that are undestroyable, but at least my opponent is too...

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

make the bridges land bridges and keep vengence the same.
If you take out the water its the same as half the other maps and truly wqould become bland, boring, and suck.

i cant really blame smokaz i mean playing against puddin is like trying to fight off breast cancer. You might win and do it and be a bad ass but you'll feel sick and mutilated forever.

If you get pushed back to the land bridge... So what? ITs wide enoguh to alow flanking on it... Yes you get stuck slightly, but it can be used to your advnatage... OR so my M-10 did to you last night killign your storm squad and Gren sqad runnign in the river with you... Was so fuckign funny.
Again,.,... New tactics and fun.

Vengence is fine, both sides get the same type of bridge and choke point although the tops is a bit closer to the main ar ea. What I love about the map is that once you get past the bridges, it becomes a huge battlefield unlike most maps which tend to congregate in one area, this one tends to take on both sides because the bridges funnel everyone to the middle.

and if they sit there and wait for you to get in the water what no indirect fire... Shiiit... What do you do when there is a defensive line set up???
I see Nazis sir... They are set up.. A solid defence while we regrouped... What shall we do?
Well son... It looks hopeless, I hoped you packed a lunch we are going home, Hitler won this war i am sure there will be others.
Seriously? It takes what 5 seconds to cross in red cover.... Wow... BBEcause a road with hedges on both sides never caused that....
And the same maps have made this shit boring as all hell.
Everyoen bitches for new and different maps, When they get them, They bitch about the new and different maps.
In the famous words of Shultz....

What some map makers need to take into consideration is that obstacles made to focus troops into small spaces to fight are fun for like 2 minutes.
What I think should be integrated far more into maps are alternate avenues for attack, that dont restrict units, and benefit the players who make the effort to utilize them.
The most immediate example that comes to mind is the far middle right section of Bocage that is a walled and hedged off compound that no one can get into untill a tank busts down the gate.
I was able to cut through this compound with my P4 and get a couple grens and a MG behind a fight that was stalemating in the courtyard to the right of the city.
Ill refer you to my most recent replay of bocage for you to watch yourselves.
http://forums.europeinruins.com/index.php?topic=12664.0
Untill I destroyed the wall, Bocage was a bottleneck much like Vengence and it's bridges, the only thing is, in Bocage, I can get around the bottlenecks, where in Vengence, you cant get around those god damn bridges and rivers.
We need dynamic maps that can adjest to the type of fighting I want to do, not dictate the fighting that will happen. This is done through destroyable terrain, hidden routes, strategic buildings, etc.
