Hi guys,

I don't know if anyone will remember me, I have not been around since the end of June, persuing other interests, such as Combat Arms, GR:AW 2, and good weather.  Plus, I figured some more experience in vCoH multiplayer would enhance my abilities here in EIR.  Well, I have been playing vCoH intently for a few weeks, learning new multiplayer concepts, familiarizing myself with tactics and strategies, and working on my micro skills.  vCoH multiplayer is not nearly as enjoyable or tactical as EIR, so I'm thinking of spending some more time playing EIR.  

It looks like a lot has changed, so I will need to refamiliarize myself with EIR gameplay once again.  For starters, do I need to download a new EIR loader to update to the latest version?  Or can I update from the loader I already have, which is from late June/early July?

I updated from 1.05 to 0.7.0d using the 1.05 auto updater without downloading the latest version and without any problems.  I just need some time to build a proper army.

Nothing stops you from also making an axis company. You generally get more games when you have accounts for both sides.

Yeah, I'm not to familiar with Axis, maybe after I start play vCoH with Axis more often I will start an EIR Axis company.  For now, I content with Allies.

What im trying to say: If you play all sides you will get a better feel for the game, and thus becoming a better player.
Lets take a little example from vCoH.

The typical American-only player:
He wins some games, everything is fine. But when he starts losing alot he will start getting pissed about how those pesky wehrmacht players camp with their 2 medic bunkers, spam vet 3 Grenadiers and pop FTFL in every attempt he tries to take them out. Now he thinks: God, that shit is just so easymode, l2p noob.

Then when he tries it himself he realized that he is getting raped by smart american usage of combined arms. Sniper behind the riflemen killing the grens, mortar taking out medic bunker etc.
Then he has learned his lesson and is now ready to fight against the medicbunker again.

This is just 1 example of how it can help you to play better and become a better player by playing more than 1 side.
