It should be like the Squiggoth from Dawn of War, revving it engines before speeding forwards and sending soldiers flying everywhere.

And a hover-pad instead of those silly little tracks. And a heavy bolter! Smiley.

Yea and i didn't like it then, i was one of the biggest critics of that dumb system of gaining vet just for winning and losting vet for losing. I once went on a losing streak where i had a unit that went from vet 3 down to vet 1 just because I couldn't win a game.

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

If we were to implement xp loss after a game loss, then you shouldn't lose vet unless the unit is atleast vet 1.
So a riflemen squad with 5xp or anything lower than vet 1 requirements won't lose anything.
The xp should also never fall below vet 1 once a certain unit reaches it.

After a unit reaches vet 2, it won't fall below this level aswell.

For vet 3, I would make it so that it can fall back down to vet 2, but you don't have to pay for it again.
This would probably best be implemented together with the pre-paid system suggested earlier.

I think this is an okay setup.

anyway in basis vet is pritty much soldiers gaining experience in combat not if they win or lose battles, only way you would lose that is if u died...so i think vet system works, and u should be able to loose vet for loosing games...

i win more games fighting to the very last man, than retreating the last 2 or 1 man squad. plus it makes me better than anyone that has vetted infantry and i win  Cheesy

I've been declaring war on vampire HTs from day one, those things can make or break a game.

counter spaming vet spam with 4 vet 3 kettens? yes please ^^. Seriously though... I really wanna see some more jetbikes around, I miss em from the old EiR days (vet 3 motorbike arty, or how you get a FF kill by shooting a vet 3 bike in 3 easy steps, shoot bike with bazookas, let bike  live, micro a damaged sherman into such a position that the bike can pass in front of it while trailing the bazooka rounds behind it and voila).

The problem for a Vet loss with a game loss system is that it doesn't really fit balance or realism. As long as you didn't die, you actually learn more from mistakes and setbacks then you do wins. a Win reaffirms your superiority, whereas a loss makes you think over what went wrong. There would be logic in tying in a vet loss to units that lost members(but CoH doesn't function that way) and even then you could argue the experienced soldiers were ,merged together and the newbies got shafted with green squad mates.

The overarching problem with this is that it promotes stacking and less gameplay. You can champion the "Motivation to win" argument all you want but the reality is it will stop bad and mediocre players from wanting to play challenging matches. In our already starved game environment this would be a bad choice.

I dont think that there should be exp loss for losing a game, but mabey units that dont get called on lose exp.

And getting exp. for not calling in stuff, win or lose is silly. They got it in OMG, i dont want to see it here.

Stuff should fight if it wants experience. Only cases i can see are non combat units like the ketten, and vamp HT, and those should gain like 1 exp. just for being in the battle. probably no more.

I dont know why it's requirement is 40 to begin with. It cant kill anything.

Vet 3 should be 20 xp if anything.

well the XP sharing system that PE has in vCoH would be a good start on some select units, but they'd need vet levels adjusted i think, Also it's prbably pretty intensive in the editing code to put it on all the units so it shares properly. The vet gain on non combats is probably the safest and easiest route

Why shoot yourself in the foot by giving them PE veterancy share? Just grant them brit lieutenant/CCT style vet share - far easier to do.

probably just copied vet requirements from some other unit, like you said it can't kill anything so it doesn't matter. could be 100xp and wouldn't matter, could be 1 xp lol.
