So im just wondering, me and my brother are thinking of trying EIR, but is there alot of people playing this, and are there allways games going or how is it?

And as new players would we be instantly outmatched by highranked players or there are many lowranks playing aswell?

Well, currently most players are high ranks, because there has not been a reset of the levels in something like 3-4 months, however, a reset is supposed to occur in the next 2-3 weeks(hopefully), so after that, you will be on the same level as anyone.  This is a good time to try EIR out without being too concerned about the results.  There are usually at least a couple games going on at all times, and sometimes up to 7-8 at a time, so I'd say there are a pretty decent amount of players.  Games can be from 1v1 to 4v4, but 1v1 games don't count towards your records, because EIR is meant as a team game.

That sounds great, so me and my bro can try it out before the reset aswell, allthough we will certainly lose we can learn some before everyone else get to our level.

Don't be too frustrated if you lose a lot of games at the beginning.  It's normal.

If you guys are looking into playing Axis, I suggest playing Wehrmacht Terror.  I'm pretty sure we can all agree that it's the easiest doctrine to use on the Wehrmacht side, especially in it's current state.  Once you get your doctrine advantages rolling in games should start getting easier, especially with Wehrmacht Terror.

allright thanks for the tip.

Might be that me and my brother choose different Axis specs to be able to broaden our force.

Will be fun, and im sure we will lose alot but hey, thats how you learn.

yea dont worry if you lose 80 of 100 games when you first start. its a steap learning curve from Vcoh, rush and kill/die. alot more tactics and strategies are invovled in EIR.

Best parts about Defensive are the officers, omniscience (+40% sight and stealth detection), and moving paks.  Best parts about Terror: the whole tree.

If you and your brother want fast games, its better to roll up two allied accounts

Why is that, becuase there are less people playing Allies so its easier to find a server?

It is tougher to play as allied, so a larger number of people play axis.
I suggest learning your skills as allied first, it will make you a better player over all. It will frustrate the fuck out of ya, but it will be worth it in the end.

Then latter you can become an axis fan boy and bitch about stags and airborne!!!  Wink

Actually, I disagree on the fact that allied are tougher to play...

I personally find my allied lvl 6 AB easier than my lvl 8 Axis, but I find the Axis more fun.
The main point is axis armor is very OP with certain high level unless you play vs an allied high level, while allied lvl 8's are easier to beat with low level axis cause they still have strong tanks and "better" support teams (better in supression and longer range, though specially airborne doesn't give a fuck about that with fire up)

But there are a lot less allied players in general.

If I were you, I lurk the fourms and absorb any information that is usefull.

Watch replays and Broadcasts. The people who broadcast usually know what they are doing, and you can see how to play first  hand and imo, shorten the super learning curve we have.

Get Ventrillo, and chill out there. (If you find me, PM me and ill broadcast a game for you to watch.)

So im just wondering, me and my brother are thinking of trying EIR, but is there alot of people playing this, and are there allways games going or how is it?

And as new players would we be instantly outmatched by highranked players or there are many lowranks playing aswell?

Just have a higher level player join with you in a game and teach you how it's done. There is a setup where newer players have an opportunity to get free battle advantages and extra pp so you'll level up faster. Just think about what side you'd be the best at and what doctrine you would be the best at. If you love arty, try Canadian royal artillery or the allied infantry or wermacht defensive. If tanks are your thing, try allied armor, royal engineers, or wermacht blitz. Think about what units YOU want to play with. Do you want churchills, shermans, panthers etc. Are you more defensive (me), or do you prefer to be annoying and be offensive (jk).

My advice is DON'T delete your profile 1,000,000 times, but it's okay to delete it if you are trying to find out where you belong in EIR. Remember, however, that if you keep deleting and starting over, you won't keep your TIER abilities and it'll just take you longer to move up the ranks.
On a side note, it didn't take me very long to move up the ranks so don't worry so much about that. Just play a few games with people like me who don't care what level you are and just get better. Some people don't like to play with noobs, but I'm not one of them Smiley

PS: I'm trying to get a lot of my friends into EIR so I'm always welcome to new recruits. Enjoy the mod and post if you have any questions for the developers. They've helped me a lot since I started a year ago.

or they can both make an allied and axis account, then they can 1v1 each other, and they can always find a game.

also the best advice is don't give up or get discouraged, it takes a really long time to get a hold of the game, and depending on how good you were with vcoh depends a lot as well. many of us started off with 40 losses 3 wins on our first accounts and itll be especially difficult since pretty much everyone here has a few accounts maxed out, and some even have accounts with reinforcements.
