here let me put out this on table for you

this CGI is 8 years old. Back then CGI like this was not seen , and whoever saw it had his jaw dropped.
Todays avatars CGI is just meh , every pc game or other movies got CGI on the level of avatar , nothing new.
This 3 min wc3 clip is more interesting than whole avatar movie tbh , there is even a plot twist when the burning crusade starts dropping from the sky , which was nothing like this in Avatar and i knew everything whats gonna happen before it even happened

LOL. No gungun, you mistake good gfx with avatar gfx.
Avatar set a new standard, the animations in Avatar are definately the best out there. You have animated figures in the background that look like actuall actors (not the blue guys obviously).
Your Warcraft3 Intros were top notch when they came out, but when time goes by things use to advance. So comparing Avatar with WC3 animations is nonsense.
And if you wanna see good animations in video game cinematics, don't forget the guys that do the videos for the Warhammer franchise.

Not much point debating whether or not its a good movie you know, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and let's just leave it at that

I just saw avatar. It was good. It wasn't amazing, but it was entertaining. I definately wouldn't say that an eight-year old intro trailer for
Warcraft
was superior, though (which it evidently isn't).

If he had complained that the plot was a rehash, or that the characters weren't fleshed out enough, that would be one thing. Those would be legitimate complaints.
But stating that Avatar's visuals were unimpressive is just... stupid. It's the one thing about the movie you
can't
complain about. Even the most negative of reviews still cite Avatar's visuals as far better than anything done before, and they are. It took ~$500,000 and almost 5 years to make. James Cameron literally created new cinematic technology and filming techniques, just for this film. It is unarguably the most detailed and visually impressive movie ever created; better than Lord of the Rings, or District 9, or any Warcraft intro, that's for sure.

LOTR visuals have always been about making them... natural you could say, not visually impressive like these movies, after some years someone else will create something even better than Avatar.

I know, zombie jesus is a much more realistic deity! Movie was good, plot was not original but was well done, the things that bothered me were mostly from a scientific standpoint. Why, if every other god damned creature on this planet has 6 limbs, do the the humanoid aliens only have 4? It really makes no sense. Even the tree climbing monkey creatures have 6, and they appeared to be the most closely related of the creatures shown.
Anyway, still, awesome movie.
I'm not a dirty hippie, I agree that we are making our planet uninhabitable, but I figure it like this, the environment will balance itself out again after we've killed ourselves off, it's done it many times before with much worse catastrophes.

who cares about the environment if there will be no people left and one will have to "care" about it?
we will see each other again on this forum 1000000000000000 years from now on

Cameron usually does a great job (and even prides himself) in having some sort of explanation for everything. If you look closely at the space-lemurs, you could see that their arms were fused together (at the elbow, or around there), so I'd assume that the Na'vi evolved from them.
Anyways, the movie's been a huge success, It's made over $600,000,000 so far world wide (and we haven't even gotten the box office numbers form japan or China yet), and there's been less than 3% drop in ticket sales from last weekend to this one. At this rate, I can see it making more than Titanic.

I wish there was like a movie about a corporation that fights the government.. it would be totally awesome and stuff, you know people in ties fighting against the hippie goverment supressing their right to adhere to predetermined standards.. verily this would make for the most original plot ever.
The real reason why movies entertaining the notion of fantastic realism never have four legged main characters, is because if they were realisticly featured we would be watching their slaggy behinds during all rear shots.
Somewhere in this there's a vast idea worth a lot of money.. I just cant see where.

Sounds a lot like Dole Pineapple Company's annexation of Hawaii...or a lot of those incursions into South America for fruit companies.

Graphics were cool but the movie sucked ass. I couldn't wait for the damn thing to end, I guess i was expecting one thing (a lot of action) but got a sappy love story mixed in with save the environment bullshit. The trailers show one thing, and the movie another. Overall, it just wasn't my cup of tea.

See, now THAT is a valid complaint about the movie - I on the other hand was very pleased that it wasn't action packed and full of violence as the trailer suggested.
Hell, I loved that for once it wasn't evil aliens attacking the poor defenseless humans like most alien movies are.
Finally though, I saw this movie in imax and I hated it. Ruined seeing any film 'normally' ever again. Damn you technology.
