Does anyone else think it would be nice if units start to get vet 2/3 ingame?

My suggestion is to be able to pay SP on units so you don't have to do it after the game, thus meaning they can vet up ingame, if they die you've wasted the SP.

The vetting up ingame was a fun part of old EiR which is now gone, and I think should be brought back in one form or another.

Discuss..

I would like to see this in aswell, it's a bit annoying when a unit comes back with 20 kills only to get a couple of XPs from it.

Agreed, I think it would definitely help ally units especially if they could prepay for some vet (another PP sink for end game).

Totally agree with the original poster on this.

The entire intent of the system is to stop units from getting from vet 0 - 3 in one game.

It represents them getting special training after gaining practical experience on the field.

It isnt a hard and fast rule by any means of course - if it turns out the community wants it different, then, it will more than likely change Wink

That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.

Agreed - if a unit consistently gets vet 3 from vet 0 in a game, then the exp requirements are clearly off(I'd say they are definitely off for the P4 and Shermie - WAY too easy to vet up).

Yeah why did most the vet values get lowered? Heavy tank values get halved? There were still plenty of vet 3 heavies at 500 EXP and hell those things should be rare. AB and rangers are even easier to vet up now and they were pretty easy back then. Even if vet isn't as powerful this abundance of vet basically negates the nerfed vet.

If we increase the XP requirement by a drastic amount like shockcoil suggested, I dont think you should be paying for it at all. Im for keeping the requirements the way they are now, of course with some exceptions (Elite infantry, PanzerIV etc.) but keeping the same SP cost they do have now.

Vet modifiers are easy to change Smiley.

I don't think it's desirable to step away from the 'SP for vet' approach, simply because it prevents people from getting full vet 3 armies of doom and provides an interesting sink to keep track of. I think pre-paying for vet however would be fine, we can adjust some of the requirements if needed but generally I don't think you'll see a unit get all the way up to vet 3 in one game.

It keeps the original system in place but also brings back the fun aspect of vetting up your unit ingame rather than in the launcher. Also something to note, pre-paying for veterancy while beneficial has an obvious risk attached it. (If the unit dies before getting vet 2/vet 3 you wasted PPs)

Should the prepaid vet go for one level or two? Say that I got a vet 1-unit and pay the prepaid, should the unit be able to get to vet 3 or only vet 2? Or may I choose to buy "both" prepaid?

You could realistically replace all the infantry with different colored gummy bears and the tanks with My Little Ponies and have the same game.

I would like to see that MOD! Cheesy

Could be an upgrade for each unit in launcher just like a repair kit for tanks for example, Vet 2 and Vet 3 would be seperate.

Maybe if you pre-pay you have to get more XP?  so you need like 20-10 or whatever more XP in game and if you dont achieve this you have to vet up after game.

But you've already pre-paid for it, it's just investing early into a unit so that he may gain experience after he's hit his next vet level in-game. If you lose the unit, the investment isn't going to be returned.

Yea, it's already a risk, I don't think you'd need another 'cost' attached to it.
