No theres no double standard, because the only similarity between them is that they have a power impact on the game. One was coined a bug in EIRR, and abusing bugs is not allowed in EIRR. The other one was annoying, OP, imbalanced but *not* called a bug. Please find me the thread where ferocity, zeal or any of these other abilities you and pudding have hinted at where they are declared a bug and that is confirmed by a dev member.

So not the same, and out of courtesy I have not mentioned that Misten was doing it intentionally fully knowing that it was a bug and having a company built around sticky spam. It was from a class act from a BA member

Bugs are stuff that gets confirmed on the forums as bugs. The extreme spotting bug for brits, luger guy on pak, sticky vet 2 stacking with the doctrine ability, the scout car. If the impact on the game is huge or its extremely gamebreaking and it can be removed or disabled until patch it has been done like that in the past. Unlucky for axis players the sticky bug has not been disabled or handled probably because stickies are integral to american AT.. and not bugged on the other two doctrines.

And that's why I call it a bloody double standard, together with puddin.
How is automatic shreks NOT considered a bug by anyone?
Why the hell did we not ever see 0.18 cooldown as a bug? And that's not the only buff it gave.

You imply Misten has built his company around the vet 2 stickies, when he in fact told me himself pre-game he sold a fair ammount of his vet 2 riflemen to minimise the effect of the bug as much as possible, leaving just the highest vets. You had no reason to believe he infact built the company around the stickies other than being stickied by ONE over-longed sticky in one game. Your post came up immediately after the game with us, it's a pretty damn huge indicator you made the assumption from just the one game.

Of course this has been logged as a bug, and will be fixed soon - so threads like these aren't even needed.

But I just find your very definition of bugs and exploits pretty odd - it's only if someone specific says it's a bug when it becomes one - I don't think I can agree with that.

My "definition" of a bug is someone reporting something for possibly being a bug, then gamesguy/bobsmith or someone who code looks at it and go "Ah, its a bug" and then post "yes its a bug" on the forums.

Its not very disagreeable tbh

It's ok now, you guys don't even notice when you talk past each other.

Puddin was talking about the old old old IA thingy, way before EiR:R i think.
While smokaz is talking about it's last implementation before the reset.

Someone should tell the people to not abuse it, so yes, the thread was needed in a way. Because even though it's a known bug, there's a lot of people running aorund thinking it's intended.

You can't realistically enforce something like this.

This isn't like the priest auto-fire bug or the hilarious HVAP bug, speaking of which, use either of those and get your unit deleted. Wink

I dont see how this is any different than the semi auto ATG exploit.

It's like saying "well I thought you were going to circle my ATG but you didnt so i hit halt and that's what produced the semi auto ATG firing"

Only actually doing it and pleading ignorance that you used a bug.

This can be enforced. Especially if in the replay there are a large occurances of stickies following axis tanks around that are trying to kite.

Normally we would see this animation in small numbers from pumas getting stickied as they turn a corner or something, but when you have stickies zooming half a screen length chasing a panther, you gotta know something is up.

A quick look at the person's doctrine selection screen and whether it was a vet2 rifle squad that threw the sticky coupled with the replay should be proof enough.

I find it absolutely hilarious that people are trying to justify abusing a bug based on an extreme imbalance. Regardless of how fucking stupid one-man Grens may have been forever ago, it does not sound anything like a bug, but just fail judgement when it came to doctrine ability balance.

It just not worth the effort, the patch will be released either today or tomorrow.

This has had to have been the most annoying rubbish ive seen. Vet 2's in hordes chasing single axis tanks across the  battlefield,  its like a charlie chaplin movie or somthing.

I know reality has no grounds here, but if the allied high command knew that you could chase a tank off by placing 2 stars on a mans shoulder, handing him a sock covering in tar with explosives in it.

What reason would there have been for anything else?

Its and exploit,  its rubbish, those players who have deliberalty used it to gain advantage know who they are and while they feel justified in thier usage, should have a small niggling element of guilt around the clear lack of "FUN" they are sucking out the game for the opposing players.

Thank the gods (BOBsmith/EIRRmod) for the patch.
