I personally believe that flat out taking away stun is like balancing with a sledge hammer tbh. It could've been tuned.  Tongue

Well lets give it a week of testing and see how it goes.

Still tbh, taking stun away and decreasing schrecks by 20 muni are not gonna make light vehicle spam any better. That something the player base needs to overcome. I dont think we should encourage the ideology that "axis heavy tanks should be able to counter absolutely everything" which removing stun puts us closer to that direction.

I've been moaning about the real problem being wehr having mines only for VD and that being scarce to begin with, but its hard to get any support for that idea. Not saying anyone has cramped my style, but maybe its time to consider this more?

tbh, faust crit tables vs. M8 armor should have just been improved if you wanted VD for wehr.

If pios were to get a second mine standard, something would have to be done with pio pop or availablility or something because i know i dont wanna return to atk/def. with 12 pio callin layin down 24 mines and goliaths everywhere.

@Groundfire - Why does Wehr need VDs?  They have heavier tanks with which to outrange or outdamage the allied tanks (except for Firefly), not to mention Wehr has many cloaking counters (Storms with double to triple shreks if using noob advantage, had a nasty game against them wiping out our allied armor the whole game cause it was a set of 3-4 squads; or cloaked PAKs) or outranging units (PE VD via the Light ATHT, or the locked down marder or 88s that can seriously put the hurt on allied tanks).

Im under the opinion that wehr doesnt really need it either but in the interest of compromise im putting out solutions.

increasing crit tables vs. M8 armor would have the desired effect of reducing LV spam while not obliterating the effectiveness of allied armor.

Pretty much only T17s, M8s and now the new stuart would get more engine damages if this change was to happen.

And really are greyhounds and Stuarts going to be problem now? No one really fields M8s as it is such an inferior vehicle for anti-inf (being a utility vehicles for mines) and the stuart is pretty much akin to the up-gun puma, so I don't see an issue unless its a mass light vehicle fight for both sides at the same time (army of pumas vrs army of m8s), in which case the T17 isn't going to be helping against anything that isn't a infantryman.  Making them more suceptible to engine damage would take usefulness out of them since one can kit way more fausts on soldiers who have longer range than US can with stickybombers.  And considering the costs and MU sinks incurred while fielding light vehicles other than the t17, it'll just force players not to take them anymore or at least strongly discourage.

t17 still rapes paks,you can still zoom in,kill a pak/mg...zoom out and have way cleared for bigger stuff.with some micro on many maps you can stay out of tanks way most of the time because of the speed...and why would it be have to be good against other stuff? light vehicle that is good against inf,and still does great job against tanks,and is very resilient...hmmm

I doubt it uses m8 armor,since in wouldnt be so resilient then...

I think the only real counter for T17s is- P4 or a Panther nothing else kills it as it can eat a lot of shots.

Captured 57mm needs at least 3 shots to take it down, gee how much health does this toy have?
Pumas go down with 2 ATG shots, Greyhounds 2-3 depending on luck while these buggers eat at least a lot of shells.

Do they have over 300 health? I really don't understand why these toys are so hard to kill with everything...tbh I've never seen Faust crit a engine even if such thing has been planted.

Get a good rear hit, it has a chane to crit and take out an engine, have had it plenty of times to my tanks to worry about fausts taking out a damn engine here and there when my tanks run, or nails my halftracks and blows its engine out.

glad the t17 and stag got nerf batted. a lot of abusers going aroudn with it. they are the ones that are to blame for nerf bat.

T17s do use m8 armor, m8s with skirts have 300HP - T17 with skirts have 350HP.

you will see, stag and t17 did not really get nerfed.

atm u get a 450hp light vehicle for 50fuel and 340mp and for 50muni an mg which isnt as powerful as the original one but still nice.
-> stag is a lot cheaper, its dmg output got nerfed (not veeery much) and its survivability is the same.

the t17 didnt really need the stun to be very cost effective and is also cheaper now (popwise)


edit: oh and i forgot that its 8pop instead of 10 now

i would also consider removing free smoke and recon runs and supply drops. all it does is encourage smurfing and griefing.

at the rate smurfs and griefers have been poping up of late. it just needs to go away. noobs rarely know what to do with those adv. they just lend themselves to be abused by smurfs.

I have no choice but to deal with the stun being taken away from the t17. In my opinion that is just to big of a nerf to it but atleast it still kills. It sucks but i'll live with it. I will also have to agree with pack and I think the noob advantages should be taken out as well.

I wish to address a few points that have cropped up since my last post :

@Lionel : stickies have 1.5 penetration with a further 1 penetration modifier against panthers, tigers, jagds and basically everything else. They simply CAN'T not penetrate.

The only thing capable of bouncing a sticky was the German Steel Vet 3 KT. Nothing else.

@Groundfire : This is why we balance accordingly to how the good players play.
Even if fausts are easy to get off in mid-level play due to the long range, getting a faust off at anyone good with his light vehicles is an entirely different story. It has a fairly long wind-up time with a very, very definitive animation which makes it extremely easy to spot and then dodge the faust with a fast and agile light vehicle. Not to mention most faust platforms, bar the KCH, are fairly fragile and die to one shot from most vehicle main guns.
