jesus this fucking grind when all docs are not even released is insane. I play a  lot but fucking A 30 min to 1 hr to get games is a basically a 2 hr investment in this shit. This isnt an MMORPG where we get shiney armor and at least work towards some weird odd shiney goal. Gives us the ability to get free doc and adv choices already.

Actually this is pretty much an MMO with the same buildup you'd find in an MMORPG.
That being said though, we already told you a million times we will be reducing the grind further later on, patience.

What we will NOT be doing is make everything free.

needs something drastic. i know ya working on other docs and updates but you arent winning any new players with the grind and the old players are just getting tired of it. if all docs and features and some warmap was going on...ok fine. but right now we are basically still stuck in beta.

Actually, the progression (or grind as you will) is what keeps a lot of people playing. Just like it does in an MMORPG. (Obviously though, since we have regular wipes our 'grind' is much less significant than the average grind found in mmorpgs) We already toned it down once, it's much less of a grind than it used to be. Like I said, we have plans to alter the system in a near future, it's all about finding the right balance really. Just be patient.

If everything was free from the get go everyone would get bored of it too quickly.

What we need for the new players is a way for them to remain competitive when joining the mod late-war or when they don't don't play enough games to keep up. This combined with the current faster xp/pp income when fighting higher level teams is going to do the trick.

And that's coming in soon Smiley

new players should just get more recourses tbh.

after every battle they play, the recourses they have get lowered a little bit untill its on normal values.

make it a challenge for pros to play vs noobs. not the other way around.

u should lower xp gaining from playing vs noobs though, else people will just stomp noobs for vet

and who is gonna decide who is noob?

if u are noob, and play against lv 9. and get stomped you would get more xp than winning against another noob, and it's not that higer lv players got all that much xp from stomping noobs...

ehmm, maybe only allow 1 forum account per IP address?

then you can check when new players join the mod (new forum account).

other thing you can do is link all the wins&losses to the forum account.
how less games you have played, and how lower your w/l ratio is, the more recourses.

ok no IP then,

how about adding a sentance to the scrolling message bar in launcher: CANT YOU WIN? REQUEST ADVANTAGES NOW! (next, a mod or helper or anyone will get notified and will decide if that person deserves those advantages)

grind means very little to me, if you could reach level 9 w/full advantages in 10 games that'd be superior for me. i think my opinion around this drastically changed when i stopped playing eirr like a robot, and started to play like 4-5 games a week (ofc including the extreme waiting time you have to go through sometimes)

just look at uh. whats the name of it.. i think Guild Wars? something like that. its basically a mmorpg where grinding has a definite limitation, past a set amount of time (which is quite low) you have what everyone else has and you can compete against each others skill, not time spent

which is basically what EIRR has, just the "definite limitation" grind time is a tad high atm for my taste

Realistically the MMO argument only goes so far. What MMO resets your max level character and expects you to play through the same content again?

I think people are tired of playing the same stagnant meta, and this isn't only because of doctrines or lack there of, but the amount of time it takes to get even balance changes done.

Seriously everyone knows which the "good" doctrine choices are and which ones are subpar or downright fail. And some things have been broken for a long time but left to be for months and months... and I'm talking some simple RGD things to fix or just take out broken or OP abilities.

I realize a lot of work likely went into the launcher, and it looks great. But the heart of any RTS game is the balance and game play.

There really isn't any downside with giving free doctrines, no one plays a MMO to grind, it's a feature everyone hates, they just want to get to the end and hopefully the content along the way is worth it to keep going.

If you were here to make money off the time it takes us to get to level 9, then I would understand, that's the primary MMO reason for grind and linear/exponential XP requirements for leveling.

This also makes wipes less painful while you go through testing and balance changes and able to do them much more frequently (cause honestly the last one took way too long) as needed.

uhmmm.. the last time we gave free docs for everyone, 25% of the playerbase left.... so I guess there is after all.
