Dragon Skin under anything but laboratory conditions is borderline worthless.
Please read this before you endanger anyone's life by recommending them Dragon Skin based on Pinnacle's absurd mustache-twirling-villain-style propoganda campaign.

Ya know, I watched the supposed "Testing" of DS armour.
I've never been in a situation to which I'd need body armour, but I'm sure as hell glad I read that.
I must admit, Pinnacle did a pretty good job on convincing the masses who are interested in body armour that DS was some good.
I'd be feeling for the lads if they had to wear that crap in Afghanistan...
"Vanilla kevlar" is ftw by the looks of it.

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.

At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

Ya know some forces have use DS in combat, and i will admit that i have heard alot of mixed reports about it. To me it seems like DS right now is more politics than anything else.

If anyone TL;DR'd that article, the reason DragonSkin is not very useful is if it's 120 degrees F or hotter (around 30-40 C) the disks become unglued and just fall to the bottom of the armor (giving you wonderful gut protection but piss all protection, you know, over the rest of the vest), and the same is true if the vest is exposed to trace amounts of diesel fuel (very bad, given what our vehicles run on) or at very cold temperatures (-50 F, or roughly -20ish C). So, basically, if it's in the trunk of your car it stops being bullet proof or if you live anywhere north of France it stops being bullet proof. Or if you live in the mountains. Or drive a car.
Or if you drop it that also happens, which is surprising given it's supposed to be
bullet proof
. And it's 20 pounds heavier than the much safer alternative. Pretty much the worst armor to ever exist, contrary to Pinnacle's campaign of disinformation to the contrary.

Ah ok, didn't know about the adhesive issue. Seems like it would be an easy fix to me but hey im no scientist/rd guy
Although just to comment being bullet proof (well resistant) means normally 1 form of damage usually from 1 direction. A knife can easily cut through kevlar so the dropping thing is a bit of a drawback that needs to be fixed but i mean from the sounds of it its no more broken then the m16 was.

Knives cannot "easily" cut through bullet proof vests. They can do it, but only generally after repeated attack or with a specialized combat knife (which nobody actually carries, since bringing a knife to a gunfight is stupid). All those stories you've heard about bladed weapons cutting through bullet proof vests like butter are nothing but myth, generally. I actually had that conversation with a retired marine I know a few days ago.
The M16 was only broken when it was first designed because people refused to maintain it properly. It was a lot of work, admittedly, but properly maintenanced you'd never have a problem with it. The modern M16 is much more reliable, of course.

Yea Fallout 3 was pretty great, it doesn't have to stand in the shadow of 1 & 2 imo.
