Who likes the new luftwaffe? The only thing I have been looking forward to was the riflegrenades which performs amiably although the smoke ability they are supposed to have wasn't added. With the ambush bonus they can score some nice hits plus they work when covered by smoke, can shoot through buildings and inside halftracks which is really good imo. Ace suggestion, yes I take all credit.

But what about the rest of the doctrine?

I am somewhat dissapointed about what this doctrine looks like currently, and this isn't about my set of ideas being molested (I suggested a very different draft) but something I have been hearing from a lot of other players upon my return.

The current doctrine is a mess. Some of my gripes/confusion are as following:

Mechanized Scout
- Swimm already can't move while cloaked, it shouldn't be penalized for using cloak. Penalties for cloaking shouldn't be there. I think its bugged as well, cause it sure wasnt cloaking when i tried to cloak earlier.

Weapons Training
Hello, is this doctrine ability built around PE stealing the better support weapons of other factions? Inventive, but pretty limited.

Fortress Europe
FSJ build faster? What are FSJ building? They are a specialized combat troop, the waffles are the engineer-like unit. FSJ should get a different bonus, if anything at all from the FE T4.

I could go on, but what I think this doctrine suffers the most from is that its too spread out. Look at the bottom passive T4, Planned Offensive. Its a bucket of different buffs just splashed together. Some of it is just plain silly too, infrared sights in WW2? Where's my lazors?

Dafuq man, don't ask for proof if you'll refuse it if it's not in your favor, logic fallacy for the bloody win.

I actually like weapons training tbh

But planned offensive isnt inspiring at all. The buffs are useful in the overall scheme but i hope that whole bottom tree gets redone.

Noob advantages from having a lowbie company.

But the riflenades are sweet, not sweet in the kind of tank reaper or carabine fashion, they're just a neat litle thing to have and adds capability. Problem is that the current luft doesnt seem to bring much of a powerful endgame compared to some of the allied doctrines

Sadly it doesn't. However you get really good at dancing with your infantry with it since you can't stand and fight.

Look please don't expect 1 weapon upgrade to do it all. The riflenades on tommies are susceptible to the same thing. All weapon upgrades have their specific role function for infantry. Mixing in a fg42 squad or a mp44 (for less pop than a fg42) with 2 riflenades pretty much ensures victory against basic infantry.. Riflenades are a great addition to the PE arsenal, and its also historically accurate.. Infrared sight.. less so.

Falls have never been much of a elite infantry because they can't move in packs and defeat both inf and armor/tanks which is the trademark of ab/rangers and storms. All infantry suffers from charging head on but with their squishy nature and only the faust, falls come last in a efficiency comparison against vehicles/armor even with tank busters fsj who are very defensive in nature compared to the large squad sizes of zook rangers or rr airborne.

That said the role of FSJ should be elite anti infantry. I'm planning to go monte casino to test how this flat 33% accuracy helps them, but in my original draft there also was a T4 who focused on g43/kar usage on fsj and pg's at long range to give the way you fought with them more flavor.  I'm hoping monte casino will make my fsj's elite anti infantry because they are just a slight step above basic infantry even with upgrades.

FSJ should definitely have a tree which strongly buffs their AI duty, and the other trees should be the fortress europe type and the 3rd tree at least more focused than the current bottom Planning T4.

There's also the fact that this doctrine fails to deal with the FSJ incendary bomb. this is the most useless upgrade in the game, imo. It should be removed or changed

the lockdown for the wirbelwind also looks way too weak on paper, I suggested lockdown to give it the flakvierling gun which actually packs a punch against inf and not just lets airborne fire their load on the wirbel bringing it to critical hp from two squads of rrs and then scoot away

It reduces the penalties vs units in cover/smoke.

Nobody knows exactly lmao, because it's different depending on green/red/yellow/trench/garrison/smoke, but Bob told me it was around 50% better.

It essentially cuts the cover modifiers in half when firing at units in those cover types. It's pretty handy actually.

There is however a SCAR crash that when a unit with it dies the game crashes and it's being patched out shortly.
