Or....
We could increase the pools and resources for a companies specialization, and reduce its other pools =)
So for Armor, its Armor and Vehicle pools go up higher, but its loses Manpower and Infantry/Support pool.

What happens to people that have doctrinal tank bonuses? All this would do is make infantry centric doctrines OP.

Or it could be like tank doctrines have no inf, inf companies have no vehicles etc. It would REALLY force teams to work well together so they could complement each others forces.

Id like you guys to experiment with different pool values like this - because there may be Warmap events that do the same thing, and I want to see how people handle the changes to their builds when you go from a strong-inf to strong-veh for example.

Shit I'm pretty sure you could offer the guy a cup of coffee and he'd try to kill you with the mug if you forgot sugar.
That's like offering Beer to fuck the fat chick. It will work for a while, but it's not gonna last. Not only that, but there is zero motivation for the Fat chick to loose weight.
Why don't you collect up your love beads and potpourri and find something constructive to do.

I like it, but it requires a active development presence to manage it. Isnt the team pretty overworked already?
Coders are 'overworked', everyone else is is just sitting around really :p. And this could be done without needing those coders in theory.

The only problem I see, is doctrines that specialize in one or the other becoming obsolete during those periods.

Of course, but also in war a tank operating with a tank company is the same tank that would back up the infantry, it has the exact same effectiveness, same training, same equipment.
As such EIR Doctrines don't exist in real units =p

I think it would be great to implement shifting supply depending on the warmap situation, but there are two extremely grave issues with this:
1 The pseudo balance that everyone is accustomed to would suddenly become completely chaotic, and not only would most players be frustrated, they would take far longer than 2 weeks to learn how to compensate.
2 Whenever the balance cripples certain factions (RCA, Luftwaffle anyone?) everyone just switches to another faction. Only a few die-hards stick with the weaker companies, and in the end all you really get is a bumpy, aggravating road towards most everyone playing an even fewer selection of OP factions.
The idea of introducing narrower game types is great, i.e. tank/vehicle only or infantry only, but they would have to be essentially a sub-game and would definitely require some intense dev time and playtesting before becoming well rounded alternatives to the normal game type.

I really like the idea, and I think it could be really cool if it was part of the war map at some points. Certain problems would need to be worked out, but I don't see why the community shouldn't try it for at least a day or two as a sort of beta test while we wait for rca and the war map.
