I kind of think of RO2 like Company of heroes. Its got good mechanics, but will never be balanced. The idea they came up with is to make one side stronger than the other, depending on the map to simulate attackers and defenders.
On a side note:
I don't play cod much, but isn't it both sides have the exact same guns? Since everyone seem to be comparing the 2. You tell me I just play for fun.

That's not true at all. RO1 is balanced. Yes, some maps are of course biased so it can be harder for one side to win but it's possible. And most maps are still balanced.

This game is a shitton of fun to play, but it crashes quite a bit. I hope they fix it soon.

Balance is a rough word.
Too many people see the term Balance as symmetry these days. RO1 the Russians had the better assault weapons and the Germans had the better support weapons. It played out well

Well, any semblance of balance went to fuck all with the introduction of the STG44 (IDK wtf they call it, it's a goddam STG). With a possibility of 10 of these on the German side, there isn't shit the russians can even try to do anymore.

Yes, they have to test the weapons so they can balance them. Also the soviets have the AVT-40 which is probably even superior to the Mkb-42.

AVT is shit, tbh. The full-auto trigger is too fast to be practical, the only real advantage is the extra 4 rounds in the mag.
On the upside, the scoped SVT is spectacular....

I think it was crap. The characters were too accurate. Rifles should be almost 100% accurate, but there was almost no sway, even after sprinting. It really turned out to be a toe-shooting, window-camping snipefest.

I want to ensure we have a 100% decision on the process before we do the wipe.
If not, then I wipe, then someone gets something they shouldn't, then it gets abused, then the shit hits the fan and then I ban shab.

You're not supposed to fire full auto obviously. It's like a semi-auto with less recoil. It has an insane amount of firepower if you can use it right.

I cant be the only one excited for the upcoming update -
http://store.steampowered.com/app/234510/
Japanese Vs US Marines, Bolt actions and Banzia charges vs. Automatics. Looks good, and they arn't going to insult you with the prices and they wont split the community if you decide you don't want to buy it.
http://www.heroesofstalingrad.com/2013/05/15/rising-storm-pre-purchase-very-soon-pricing-info/
25% off for owning HOS and 15% off for preorder, effectivly making the price around 12$ for americans like me. In addition to that if you have the "INB4Reset" achievment you gain all the day 1 unlocks. And if you don't feel that they deserve your money you can still play rising storm, but only with the rifleman class. Also if you don't own HOS and you buy RS, you get the full HOS multiplayer with your purchase.
Bravo tripwire and the mod team, Bravo. You've been turning around the ugly monster that was the early Heroes of Stalingrad. The game does unfortunely still have some bugs though, nothing game breaking. Regardless Red Orchestra 2 is still a gem despite its imperfections and early mishaps.

Gave up on RO2.
I have yet to see a mod for the damn game and the persistence is very lacking
All in all i payed 5$ for the game but if it was around 20$ i would be really pissed.
