im making a wehr defensive doctrine, but im not too sure how to balance out my support. any sugestions?

88 and a stuka.
it worked for me for a long time when i played the defensive doctrine on OMG and EIR.
on short 2 88 and 3 stukas but this will make sure you wont have any tanks so it is my prefrence but i have no idea about yours

volks with fausts and mines. a lot of volks. having enough heavy AI might be difficult though.

 use 1 88 and dont use stuka yet. you have to have tanks. get 3 pumas. 2 p4s and a panther. rest maybe get 1 double shrek gren (buy from doctrine first) and get give the rest single LMGS or double if you want to be cool andj ust go anti inf.

EDIT: oops yea forgot. 3 paks and 2 mortars and some HMGS

I've always been a fan of massed Pumas/Ostwinds, with 88s and double Schreck Grens as my AT (and their relatively better now, with the pop increase to ATGs).

I prefer support weapons over Stuka/88.

I run 2 HMGs, 2 Mortars, 3 Officers, 3 PaK, 4 LeIG.

Volks. And lots of them.

Get grenades and fausts. All you need then is some long-range AT to ensure the enemy can't just kite you. You will simply overrun everything else.

Curious question Myst, have you managed a similar build to the Volks/Stug spam with an American Coy as of yet, which is actually of a decent effectiveness?

I mean I know Obama was the first one in EiR to get a card. and tbfh the Race card is pretty OP. but Romney has the K.K.K., those guys seem to camo anywhere. So OP units from both sides.
At the end of the day, however, stormtroopers finally got the anal invasion with a cactus they have richly deserved for years.

What kind of question is that? Of course I have. My 7 vet 3 M10 company is a proud example of that, as well as my 3x calliope 30 rifles, and my 2x Pershing 30 rifles coys. There are few things scarier than wave after wave of vet 2 sticky riflemen that also pineapple nuke anything they see. The map isn't RTC? Gg.

You guys, suggesting tanks for defensive? Honestly? No, don't use tanks at all, you don't need 'em if you are good with infantry and support weapons. Throw tanks into garbage can, they ain't worth your time.

Build your company to look similar to most Allied doctorines. 5 PAKs is good number. 3-4 MGs and a mortar or two. Everything else to volks and defensive officers. 2 Officers is good for that support. Everything else on volks/grens. If you like grens take 'em, with medkits and handgrenades though I prefer volks with fausts. MP40s are le crap buy them only if you feel them as neccessary tool.

Recommended build:

5x PAKs- you'll always run out of these thanks to allied arty spam and LV spam
3-4x MG42s. It is god's gift to Wehrmacht. Use it vs Allied rofl blobs they will be throwing at you at a endless vast
Huge X ammount of volks. They work for everything.
x Ammount of grens. If you feel it neccessary
2x Mortars. You run out of these too due to arty spam
x ammount of bikes. They are good at spotting targets and harshing infantry

I find ostwinds are capable right off the bat. Nothing in the game seems to kill riflemen faster. Dont need doctrine buffs for them.

People seem to misunderstand what it means to spam doctrine options. It doesnt limit you to spamming ONLY doctrine buffed units. That's not neccessary. You can easily introduce unbuffed units into the mix and still have a fairly large doctrine selection of units. The key difference is that you for instance use pak40s and cloaking infantry to support a fairly good basic unit as the ostwind. With the pak40 you can win all atg snipe duels.

Thinking like this opens up new avenues of strategies. Sure, your p4 is worse than the armor buffed sherman. But your support for the panzer IV is immensily superior to the armor support. His light at rifles and atgs are no match for your accuracy buffed shreks and pak40s, even if the "workhorse" unit you have is worse.

1) find a doctrine with biggest ammount of offmaps
2) check if you can spam a single unit in that doctrine
3) Huh?
4) play a game and watch enemies rage as you offmap them and follow with never ending waves of spam
5) As a humble EIR player go after game into enemy vent and/or EIR launcher and give them tips on what did they do wrong.

Nothing stops Brits in their tracks faster than an Ostwind. Kite PIATs and Brens with ease, snipe officers and cut down vet blobs quickly. I find them less affective (though still useful) against Amis, since Rifles cost less and Tommies, and Bazookas/RRs/ATGs are plentiful.

Unlike other tanks which fire one round every ~6 seconds, the Ostwind's rapid rate of fire make it a godsend against Brit blobs. Despite its poor long range accuracy, that's exactly where it belongs; far out of the range of Buttons or Stickies. With the recent nerf to ATGs, Ostwinds have become even better.
Plus, losing a Tommy squad hurts a lot more than losing a Rifle squad.
