Assault Squad is coming out soon... Playing the Beta, multiplayer works very well, and is quite fun.

Even has things that werent in normal MoW multiplayer apparently, such as 88's and what not.

If you like company of heroes but you wish something more realistic, i'd say its worth your money - I downloaded it though but i intend to buy Men of War, Faces of War for the support.

But keep in your head, the gameplay is something far diffrent, most players find it hard to play..

That said, if our steam group reaches the 20,000 member count, we'll reactivate the open beta and add the Soviet Union as a playable faction as appropriate thanks.

Im fairly sure with the modability of MoW that skirmish will not only be modded to have the different units, but ANY units from mods are possible.

The second and third one definitely has more replayablity. I'd like to see you play rock-paper-scissors for more than three hours.

But then again most of the new stuff doesn't make a whole lot of sense. How can paper counter a gun? And then there's the obvious part that it's a completely different game and it doesn't just add a few different looking units, it completely alters the entire game, rules, logic and simplicity. Adding a more units in a game like MoW is different, they look different but they function the same.

How about this game? rock, paper and my fist up your ass, I can show you how to play.

Ok, I decided 'whatev' and bought it... now I'm trying to download the 'assault squad' mod thing and... I can't seem too... Am I doing something wrong?

You can't download Assault Squad cause there's no beta re-release? They need 20,000 people in order for them to release it again.

Assault squad is like Men of War with a few skirmish matches that get boring fast.

So just stick with Men of War and then when you have completed the singleplayer/coop campaign you should try this mod http://www.digitalmindsoft.eu/forums/viewtopic.php?f=138&t=7674

It's called Dynamic Campaign Generator, it's basically skirmish with the ai but a lot more fun because it's so much like EIR.

That mod is pretty good, but I'm still gonna buy Assault Squad no matter what.
