Is it going to get nerfed in some way? Its pretty damn good with extra range ( i think it has ) and better arc of fire + 4 man crew. I enjoyed playing with it so much!

i say leave it, things are epic, are they meant to be similar to pak 40? though pak 40 doesnt get as big range does it?

Uhm, pak 40 get sniped from longer range 17 pounder and yes it has more health in comparision to pak 40

65 range vs 60 range.

High accuracy vs other ATGs

No accuracy vs Infantry

High penetration values

Slower than a turtle

There's ONLY 1 unit that can Decrew it with 1 shot and that is a Hummel, offmaps might have hard time but that is dependable. PAK40 can be one shotted by: 105, 25Pdr, any offmap, calliope etc making it very unreliable and...quite frankly useless piece of equipment without a t4 cloak.

Plus allied light vehicles have a easier time fighting it head on than axis ones vs the 17Pdr. To put it Simply 17Pdr >>>>>> PAK40 in every cases. Figures out that PAK40 is Support T3 and 17Pdr no tier at all.


I propose a nerf that is this: Remove it from all other docs and leave it to RSE. Make it T2 or T3.
Also lower its accuracy vs ATGs. 17Pdr is the heavy tank killer that makes all axis vehicles cry. Axis! L2P without Vehicles and you'll notice that life- will be magically easier.

the 17 is so slow, i hate it. i'll take firefly's and 6pdrs anyway. It does need some tweaking because it's directly taken from the emplacement but it's a nice weapon vs axis heavies. Without apcr rounds its basically a high penetration 57mm that has slower tracking.

would make sense. i say all atg vs atg should be 25% and smaller atg vs big atg 35 its small enough to not be a big deal but big enough to make a difference in game.

afaik these are a WIP.

but these things are like 200mu with their AP rounds. thats the cost of a 57 and a rifle squad with stickies pretty much.

6 pounder are most times better because their cloak is broken

otherwise these mobile 17 pounders are the death to all heavy armor axis can field

i think they will be moved to royal engies only soon

I only thought of that then, but i was more focused on 17pdr with Priest and/or 25pdr support. Sit them in the middle of the map, have a bren and cromwell and slowly but surely push up the field.

There slow as i owuld only accept some sort of nerf if its turing speed was fixed it has nice damage and high range but when a mortar starts firing or it gets flanked especially by an ist it is so slow at turning it makes 200 muni seem worthless

It's a bit overpowered, but CW needs a more powerful AT gun too. So a small nerf would be in order. Plus it's a new unit so players haven't really gotten used to it and learned how to counter it, the best counter is probably with artillery.
