Hey guys, im wondering if you guys know of any upcoming or already released surival horror. im thinking about FPS style, but more about surviving realism then left4dead style. Something like Zombie panic if you guys know what im talking about.

i was trying to get people to get a project realty zombie thing going, but people always want to PLAY the zombies which totally sucks, because as soon as you put people in the role of zombies they aren't zombies anymore which bugs me!

Dead Island was vaporware, like Duke Nukem Forever. But like DukeNukem it swapped developer so it might actually get released. I wouldn't get my hopes up too much though, either they will release a half finished game or the release date will be postponed another year.

I also like these kinds of games but unfortunately there are few that actually focus on survival and horror, most of them are mods.

Other than Dead Island that I can think of a few games.

Killing Floor (both the ut2004 mod  and the game)
Zombie Panic Source (HL2 mod)
Zombie Master (HL2 mod)
Land of the dead: Road to Fiddler's Green
 The Last Stand and The Last Stand 2 (flash games)

last time I played it, it wasn't even a real multiplayer .

Sure other players could be on your server, but the only thing common on your computers were which square the players were in. There was absolutely no other synch then that, the AI dictated how the other player behaved on your screen. So while on your screen your team-mate gets absolutely raped by zombies, on his screen he's clear.

First off, Dead Island has been in development for like 3 years at least, BUT I THINK/HOPE that we will see it in the next year or two, and hopefully it lives up to its expectations.


I also have played all those games/mods

Maybe we should get together for some playing sometime!


We should look out for L4D/L4D2 mods, there has to be a realistic mod out there, tbh if I knew how to code I would of done it myself. I mean shit, all you have to do is change the damage tables/speed of the zombies, tweak the weapons a little, take out special infected/tanks, toy around with the director I'm sure, and then BAM! You would have the best ZSH out there!

There was a realism mod for L4D that I played in its infantcy, but I don't remember what it was called, I'll take a look for it today and see if it's gotten better.

And it blows, oh you can't see your team mates outline... big deal. TBH realism mode on L4D2 adds maybe a 15% challenge to whatever difficulty you are playing. Sure playing on Expert and Realism is one hell of a challenge, but it doesn't add the kind of suspension I believe Demon and I are looking for.

you play the cold water beta? that's one heck of a hard campaign map. at the end it's just endless zombies, ridiculously hard.
