Should the arty fire have a longer range or some doctrine ability buff the 88 arty range ?  The artilery fire range is the same as normal 88 range of 100 so it's small and not realy that much useful because you can fire normaly at a target.

Its a freaking free ability, why should it get buffed any more? It lets you hit mortars behind those pesky shotblockers, and still rapes everything within its firing cone which is large as fuck.

You ask way too much. Just be glad that you do have a small arty ability for it.

How is it free if you have to spend T3 unlock for it?!

you dont spend munitions for any upper unlocks, and it cant be bottom unlock. But if I have to unlock something, thats still not free,so I am not herpaderp, but you dont know how to correctly express yourself.

Well, we didn't want users to be able to counter flak 88 counters (like howitzers, 25p, etc) with it. The idea is that it lets you shoot over hard obstacles within its range.

I express myself correctly. It is free because it doesn't stress your company in terms of resources.

http://forums.europeinruins.com/index.php?topic=17144.0

Notice armour bottem T1. It says "Free top MG"

Notice luftwaffe top T4. It says "Free FG42"

They are FREE.

Regardless of it being free or not, what do you have to justify your 88 being able to have howitzer range?

You have a unit that has high damage, high accuracy, high penetration, outranges all the ATG's and tanks in the game, and most importantly, fires all the time.

And you want it to do the same -a few rounds as a howitzer, the counter of the unit?

You want your unit which with the ability negates mortars, and with your proposal, negates one of its most important counters in the game ONTOP of negating all armour, atg, and sometimes infantry usage in a large area?

The only way I could see this happening is if we implemented the vCOH flak88 changes (making it significantly worse versus infantry and support weapons)
But that is something I don't think a lot of flak88 players would want Tongue.

I understand that but most arty have 200+ arty range or are mobile like stukas, so imo 88 wouldn't hurt if it had 150 for example, just my 5 cents.

88 already negates mortars

I like how this slowly turned into a balance thread.

Who started it? Ohh....

No please don't put those vcoh changes in, they will make the 88 even more useless than it currently is :/

Nope i didn't say anything about that 88 should have  howie range ,   the only thing with 'howie' was in title , about the 88 ability to fire like howie.

Darksoldier was claiming something that was not going to happen rofl lol.

Either way I wouldn't mind the thing having a nebelwerfer/Stuka range. It'd make the unit something useful once the enemy is pushed away from it or trying to circle it from afar. This means it'd still help team mates with arty barrage when its direct fire is nullified by shotblockers. Support is the key in this case.

Either way, its already been said no for the obvious reasons.

Its already a cheap powerful unit, it has to have drawbacks for being capable of such cost efficiency. It has more firepower than a king tiger for half the cost, stop asking for too much of your units.

So tell me, what would be the dramatic difference between  range 150 and range 100 that it is currently ?  (only for arty fire)

Marder also has more firepower than king tiger for half cost, that doesn't make it OP.

Yeah, but a marder doesnt outrange ATG guns and snipe them before they can even get anywhere near its range.
